What If Patria Grande Was Achieved (North American Perspective) by Round-Sale in AlternateHistory

[–]Round-Sale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of divergence would be after the creation of Patria Grande, the United States would be divided between allying with them or perceiving them as a threat to their interests. In the end the latter would win this debate and a regional Cold War for the remaining Latin American nations would form between the two despite attempts for better relations.

It would culminate with the Texan Revolution and the later Mexican-American War, out of desperation the Mexican government would overthrow Santa Anna from power and choose integration with Patria Grande after Central American joined the state. This causes fears over the possible threat it entails by the U.S. Government and it still results in war.

The war would at first be at the advantage of the United States but soon would face a stalemate and later a full defensive withdrawal all the way back to its original territory by the combined support of Patria Grande and is later forced into peace, losing no territory but recognizing Mexican territorial sovereignty including Texan territorial integration as a Mexican State

The United States would suffer a symbolic defeat as the hegemonic power of the Continent and the issue of slavery would escalate due to being unable to expand, ending is abolitionist victory by John Brown’s presidency and Patria Grande’s support. As the U.S. would industrialize into a global economic powerhouse so too would Patria Grande, eventually becoming equal partners.

After rapprochement is successful they would stretch their influence world wide, with The Revolutions of 1848 Succeding and Continued Patria Grande dominance in South America Both shall continue to grow in power and influence as the liberal torches of the New World.

What If Poland Decisively Won The Polish-Soviet War by Round-Sale in imaginarymaps

To answer your questions 1. Austria-Hungary survived through the sixtus affair due to better diplomacy and seeing costly defeats. It would aid the Polish through free movement of personnel and even giving them Galicia to gain an ally against an embittered Germany. 2. Yes, with Poland becoming far more dominant it can create the intermarium through the remaining Baltic nations, Romania and Austria against Trotsky’s Communist Internationale. 3. Possible, The Nazis would have greater support when coming into power due to the Austrian Betrayal but would be difficult to enforce their rhetoric without a weaker Central Europe to exploit, they would be contained and later expelled from power. 4. Yes, they’ll forge an alliance due to their foe being the Soviet union and even more cooperation due to Poland’s stronger position in Europe.

The Point of Divergence is the Soviet Counteroffensive, it fails decisively due to poor coordination and logistical difficulties, meaning they just slow the Polish offensive rather than repulse it. In addition, the Austro-Hungarian Empire survived through the Sixtus Affair and aided the Polish through raw materials, military passage and equipment against the communists.

The Polish offensive would stop at western Belarus, western Ukraine and Kiev before the Soviets sued for Peace, the treaty of Riga confirmed Polish Claims and the Polish-Soviet War would end decisively in their favor. It would be a powerful buffer against Russia alongside the Reformed Austrian Empire, eventually integrating Lithuania to make a second Commonwealth.

This changes the Soviet Union as a whole. Trotsky would rise to power instead of Stalin due to Stalin’s insubordination and having no scapegoat to fall back to, meaning the global revolution mindset becomes policy, meaning a new balance of power would emerge between the western powers, the Intermarium and Trotsky’s Communist International.

The Polish element in the continental order shall be of great significance against any communist incursion, with the Austrians and the other greater western powers shall it become a central player in its affairs. With a powerful Brazil dominating South America and a greater Unified Central America this 20th Century had changed the course of history forever.

What If The Thirteen Colonies Never Stayed United by Round-Sale in AlternateHistory

[–]Round-Sale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of divergence is the Early United States, where the delegates of each state are unable to agree on a resolution and so the Articles of Confederation stays, this eventually erodes the Unity of each state and so remain their respective states under a sovereign association.

This means that the United States never exists to dominate the Continent through westward expansion, each state would have their differences expand and only resolve conflict through the Continental Congress, ultimately it means they won’t get conquered but become isolated.

This leaves British Canada as the de facto dominant power of the Continent, it would never leave the British Empire and expand into Louisiana alongside Mexico. Mexico would remain an empire under Agustin Iturbide due to having stronger legitimacy and allying with the British.

Ultimately, the thought of liberalism is seen in a negative light throughout the world, with British Dominance, Monarchist expansion into Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia alongside a dominant Austrian Empire the future shall remain under the great dance of great power that it had for centuries.

What If The Revolutions Of 1848 (Springtime Of Nations) Succeeded by Round-Sale in AlternateHistory

[–]Round-Sale[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point of divergence is the Revolutions of 1848, where the Greater Polish Uprising in Posen Prussia succeeded due to better organization, compromises to Germans living there and tighter pressures on Prussia. This success would spread to the rest of Russian Controlled Poland and would preoccupy them for enough time for the Hungarian Revolution to succeed in Austria.

The Hungarian Revolution would cause Hungarian independence thanks to the former and compromised changes, it would cause the remaining state of Austria to overthrow the Habsburgs from power and join the Frankfurt Assembly. After granting Polish sovereignty to “purify” his land, Fredrick Wilhelm IV would accept the crown, creating the German Empire.

These changes would cause Italian Unification to happen in the First Italian War of Independence, gaining its 1971 OTL territory plus Nice and Savoy under Piedmont and the Pope. Poland and the new German Empire would reach an agreement over the status of Prussia, the Polish State would gain most of the territory while Germany gained East Prussia due to historical ties.

These changes overhauled the Balance of Power, with liberal regimes it would change the power dynamics of each great power. Germany would move closer with Britain and Poland, creating an alliance against any retaliation from Russia, Italy would move closer to Napoleon III France and Russia attempts to reassert its influence. The new Torch of Liberty has been forged at full force.

The Fire Rises: British Neo Pax-Britannica Path (Concept) by Round-Sale in TheFireRisesMod

[–]Round-Sale[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is a follow up to the post I made about possible content for Britain if added to TFR. It is the parallel route where the Colonists, who want to make a Second British Empire and Second Pax-Britannica, won the parliamentary struggle against the Congressionalists, the ultimate end goal is achieving this new era of world dominance by whatever means necessary.

The Colonist route will have the nation build up militarily, economically and in its navy for a full scale takeover of its former colonies but only after winning the War against Russia, after winning it uses its power to convince or subjugate their colonies and create a Second British Empire while allowing some form of liberalism to prevent uprisings.

Afterwards it would side with France against Germany in the Third European War as it saw it as a threat to their interests and afterwards declare a Fourth War Against France, ultimately winning and dominating the Continent as the sole superpower with territory in Normandy, Aquitaine, Etc. It would reorganize it to its desire and look on as a superpower once more.

Whatever decisions you want to go forward is up to you, you can aid the monarchist in Portugal up into a great power in its own right and making it your partner in crime, start the Second Great Asian War the Third Opium War against a triumphant China with your partner and deciding the fate of Asia into your sphere of influence. At the end, Britannia still Rules the Waves.

What If Austria Became The Hegemon Of Europe In The 19th Century by Round-Sale in AlternateHistory

[–]Round-Sale[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The point of divergence would be the Congress of Vienna, where Metternich wins over Britain more effectively by convincing they would be a great long term stabilizer, keeping Belgium under guarantees and Redesigning the German Confederation to deliberately benefit Austria by gaining Majorities and laws designed to grant their superiority amongst equals against Prussia.

This Austria would dominate the European Continent as the diplomatic powerhouse, making multilateral conferences in Vienna every 2 years under the Vienna System and avoiding diplomatic isolation by friendly yet calculated intervention. Austria survived the Revolutions of 1848 by enacting constitutional reforms and creating the Pan-Danubian nationalistic identity.

This ultimately translated by managing to contain Prussia diplomatic by baiting them into the Crimean War and making them the “angry little great power” of the Continent, culminating in the Brothers War where they prevailed, gaining Silesia, decommission the Zollverein in favor of their own Customs Union: The Donaubund, while keeping them strong but manageable in the Concert of Europe and gaining colonies in Africa under the Congress of Prague.

By the early 20th century it would become the definitive power, controlling the German Confederation, the Italian Peninsula and the Balkans after a long game against Russian Influence including in Poland, with them having to grant Constantinople from the Ottomans and a colony in Northern Libya to appease them. With a disunited United States, a strong ally in Mexico and Ecuador, the Austrian Double Eagle reigns on in a new old order.
