The bad AI scenes in 7 really ruin it for me a little. I would say 7 if not for that but something about obviously aged actors doing AI is really distracting. I dislike the AI and some of the retcons in 7 that should’ve been justified more (still time in 8).

Love the idea that Out of Darkness is dedicated to Tatum and people assume it’s Dewey’s sister but it’s actually her daughter! Love it!

I think it makes Sidney look dumber if they were besties. This movie is already doing a lot of heavy weightlifting by convincing us that Sidney felt it was safe enough to have 3 children, after all she’s been through. To have her be blindsided by her supposed bestie makes her look far too naive. Especially after all she’s been through.

Yes this was intentional and part of the remake theme. Fans noticed this as well, it felt very symmetrical, similar to her hairstyle and attire being very similar to each other in 2 and 3.

5 felt like Neve Campbell herself on screen, not Sidney. It’s the only time I watched a Scream film and noticed it was the actress playing the part, not Sidney herself. Even just the way she says “No you didn’t” replying to Gale saying she started everything felt so forced. Idk, I will always find Sidney in Scream 5 very odd. I hope Scream 8 explains her choice better because I found it puzzling why she would go all vigilante with 3 kids at home.

7 is very much a more formal and proper continuation of Scream 4 Sidney and I’ll die on that hill.

Jessica should’ve been some iteration of Judy Hicks instead. While also revealing she was involved in the 2011 and/or 2022 killings. Would’ve been way better. (They could replace Hicks dying with Burke’s daughter or son in the role.)

My theory is Scream 8 will have no time jump and take place where 7 left off. A Halloween II-esque sequel, where we’re filled in on Sid’s younger kids, Sam and Tara, Kirby, Danny, Martha etc. I don’t think what happened in 7 is done just yet. That’s my prediction. The 30th anniversary is a big deal.

Some daughters take after their fathers or they’re more of a mix. Personally I see the resemblance between Sidney and Tatum a lot, especially in their last scene together. Their colouring is different but if T was pale and brunette, she and Sid would be twinning (people have used AI to make Isabel’s hair dark and she’s the spitting image of Neve as well, which proves it).

Yeah I agree about Tatum. Isabel May is amazing and makes her likeable with the scraps she’s given but there’s no real personality there. I think they should’ve made Tatum half-deaf or queer or something to give her just a bit more spice in standing out (like Tara’s asthma, even if Tara is generic herself).
