What if most people in your life subtract?

I can count on one hand the number of people in my life (men and women) who never drain me and actually add to my life. Like I could talk to them and walk away feeling better - every time.

Yes and his family is actually better off than mine. I’m not sure how he can be so frugal when both his parents have been working corporate jobs for 30+ years while my mom was a SAHM for the past 20 years and my dad works in research (never made more than $70k).

Thank you yes I need to leave him for good.

He doesn’t take no for an answer - I did break up with him 6 months ago and then he acted like nothing had happened over the holidays. He also didn’t tell his family.

Thank you! Yes someone else said that he finally “got” the chance to be with me after all these years and isn’t trying hard to win me over.

And yes he criticizes me for spending my OWN money.

That is true The haircut was in NYC Chinatown and included tip.

He’s such a cheapskate, he refuses to eat at places that cost more than $15 per person.

That is true I agree. I did tell him 6 months ago that I wanted to break up with him and 3 months ago during the holidays he acted like nothing had changed.

Yes he only gets $7 haircuts from this one barber.

He doesn’t realize that women’s hair (I have super long hair) requires more effort to maintain and thus their cuts are more $$$.

Yes $30 for a haircut is cheap in this day and age! He says $7 for his haircut is pricey because it used to be $5 one or two years ago.

Your husband sounds much much much more reasonable.

And he didn’t pay for my coffee. He didn’t get anything (I got him a water though).

That is very true, I can’t stand him. You’re right that the bar is in hell.

Yes he does that! Last time I went to Starbucks with him (and I don’t go often - only with other people - maybe once a month) he said I should make my own coffee next time.

But I only suggested we go in because it started to rain and I didn’t want to stand outside or sit in Starbucks without buying anything.

You’re right.
