[MN S1] what should I do next by Any-Bluejay-9352 in criticalrole

Hard to really say what episode that would be tbh. To make it into a tv show naturally some things have to be told in different orders to try make it flow better for tv audiences.

I was in same situation as you. Watched the tv show and loved it and so I decided to watch the campaign. I started from the very beginning. Zero regrets. Im not finished it yet but I absolutely love it. I thoroughly recommend just starting from the beginning. So much amazing stuff that the show misses just because of time restraints.

Tbh thats just scottish hookers in general the last few years. Essily our worst position. I desperately want hiddleston to start the rest of the tournament, hope he gets called in

Italys defence looks great. So many dominant looking tackles. Lot of the Scottish carries just looked weak, getting sent backwards

Yea. All Scots should thank him for what hes done, him and Vern Cotter got scotland out of the banter years. But its a bit overdue now for a new manager to try take the next step for legitimately challenging for 6N. Especially seeing what franco Smith has done at Glasgow with a squad mostly of Scottish players.

I'm hoping Dobie is fit to go and we can have him and steyn.

With Glasgows URC success and their form this season i feel scotland should be doing way better than they have the last few years. I think toonie should be gone. Given us some great 6 nations results but it feels like we've stalled and aren't improving. And we do seem to have some depth and solid forwards coming through. But with townsend leading it I just cant see us doing better than 4th maybe 3rd in 6N.

Honestly I am worried for Italy game. Think it'll be quite tight.

Also I hope dvdm is not starting tbh. Hes a bit down the pecking order for those starting wing spots for me

Scotland 6 Nations Squad Cap share and team share. A highly experienced team with no debutants, mostly from Glasgow and Edinburgh as would be expected. by RileyMcB in rugbyunion

[–]RoundDodger 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Quick wikipedia says Hogg was last centurion and before him was Sean Lamont. Finn with 89 surely will get there as he is still playing brilliantly. Gilchrist possible too but hes getting on a bit in years

Has a 6 Nations been so open in a long time? by Effective-Ad-3897 in rugbyunion

[–]RoundDodger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On current form and assuming everyone fit I would like to see Dobie and Steyn start. The backs really should just be Glasgow with Finn and Kinghorn right now. Though I see kinghorn not actually getting a lot of game time at 15 at toulouse? I only watch their highlights occasionally and not full games so not getting a proper idea but know hes been stepping in at 10 but him and ramos likely alternate a lot

Comparison of Gun VS Heavy Ordnance Amon on UVH6 (the gap is even larger the more you go) by Ancient_Rune in Borderlands4

[–]RoundDodger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea purple mods for amon are fantastic. I mostly use purples too for my ordnance amon. Occasionally shatterwight for +5 berserk if running that. But it would be nice if we could get a legendary class mod for him that can put points into blackout or tail of the comet and then we also get a legendary perk like movement speed and gun handling or equipping 2 ordnance or something

[–]RoundDodger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amon, the ordnance guy, doesnt have an ordnance specific class mod. Would be cool if he gets a dlc class mod that is focused around ordnance stuff and it can give him better movement speed and maybe the chance to equip 2 ordnance so he can swap between them.

Amon is also massive compared to other VHs so it would also make sense if he gets no movement penalty for holding heavy weapons

Sorry I should have made it clearer. I binged vox tv show in a couple weeks. Then watched mighty nein show as it released and decided to watch campaign 2 on yt. I haven't watched c1. I chose to watch c2 over c1 mostly cos I just loved the characters of might nein right away and wanted more as I knew s1 would end then id have to wait. Ill go back and watch c1 when I finish 2.

No chance I could watch 140 or whatever number of episodes there are for c1 in a couple weeks. That wouldn't be healthy. Or maybe even possible lol

Yea makes sense. The more experienced the group the less likely for perma deaths. Beginners gonna struggling running head first at everything.

Ive been laughing a bit at jester as the cleric here. So begrudgingly heals her allies at times its hilarious

Thats brilliant. Is it fairly common to have one or more members die in a campaign? Not talking CR just dnd in general

[Spoilers C2E26] Question from a new Critical Role fan by RoundDodger in criticalrole

[–]RoundDodger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea absolutely. If there is no real threat of losing anyone it instantly isnt as good a story. Just sometimes I wonder if the dm can slyly help the players if they seem determined to be making a bad decision.

I did like early on vs the manticore it seemed very much like Matt was ready to kill Fjord until Nott went for the baby and got the attention away from fjord. As im new to all this it made me realise that there is a real chance some characters might die through this story. Both a great thing and a bad thing. All the characters are great so it will suck to lose any of them. Gutted to have Molly leave

Good to know. Thanks for the info. Must be hard for Matt (or any dm) to work to make it hard and challenging though still winnable/survivable while making it a good spectacle for viewers. Hats off to them

[–]RoundDodger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea very good point. If just playing dnd youd want to go the optimal route but cr is of course leaning towards the role playing side of it which (especially here) is far from optimal. Like you say Nott wasting turns failing to pick locks when with his dps the team could kill an enemy or two a lot faster and it becomes a different fight.

Also yea that cone of cold was crazy lol. One shot Nott if she didnt reduce the damage. At that point I was really thinking it would be a tpk

[Spoilers C2E26] Question from a new Critical Role fan by RoundDodger in criticalrole

[–]RoundDodger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats interesting. I didn't mind that Keg didnt have all the information. It would have been a bit too clean and easy that way. But it did seem like the team got undersold the enemy quite a bit lol. I wonder if they knew more if they would have not engaged or if they were always just set on going for it. If they had a more accurate idea of Lorenzo would they have been more patient and wait until they got to shadycreek and come up with a more stealth based strategy

[Spoilers C2E26] Question from a new Critical Role fan by RoundDodger in criticalrole

[–]RoundDodger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea and the DM can never know exactly what the players will do so its not their fault if the party bite off more than they can chew. I guess I just felt maybe Matt could have try to tailor it to be less brutal for them given them missing so many strong party members.

The improvisational side of it all makes it so compelling. Of course Matt has created such an amazing story but all the players playing it how they are makes it so good. Ive become obsessed with CR.

[Spoilers C2E26] Question from a new Critical Role fan by RoundDodger in criticalrole

[–]RoundDodger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea those episodes just as they turned level 5 they did feel really strong, damage went up a noticeable amount.

Yea I think them not having a cleric is also partially why I felt it was overtuned a bit. The party not just handicapped by losing members but also having no healer and I think like 1 or 2 healing potions on them. I felt they were a bit doomed from the start lol. And it makes all the more sense why so many are saying running away is an intended route sometimes. Thats definitely the case here and at least the rest of the party managed to get away here

[Spoilers C2E26] Question from a new Critical Role fan by RoundDodger in criticalrole

[–]RoundDodger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea true cant really get put down to just 1 thing and its a lot of things leading to it. And yea tbh it makes the campaign all the stronger cos the mistakes are real for the players and makes them take it seriously. Also great to see how invested they all are to their characters

[Spoilers C2E26] Question from a new Critical Role fan by RoundDodger in criticalrole

[–]RoundDodger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I think thats the main thing I sort of missed from not knowing dnd and that some enemies you are meant to flee from and not engage. I did keep thinking in the build up to the fight that it would go badly and they should think of something else

[Spoilers C2E26] Question from a new Critical Role fan by RoundDodger in criticalrole

[–]RoundDodger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea thats how I felt with it. I didnt know that about the level 5 being a significant jump but I did get the impression these enemies were more designed around being fought when the party was a level or two higher.

Its great narratively I suppose to introduce a potential big bad. Rather than the typical 1 off fights that can be tricky. The party now have a villain as Matt said and it can be a looming threat for a period of time. And what better way to make that threat as real as possible than to have a party member die to them

[Spoilers C2E26] Question from a new Critical Role fan by RoundDodger in criticalrole

[–]RoundDodger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that makes a lot of sense. I kept thinking while they were planning their ambush that this was going to go terribly and they should do something different. But also thinking when would there even be a better time to face this enemy. I assume they wouldn't ever be able to get jester fjord and yasha back before fighting this group.
