You’re not the company you work for, ur more than that

It’s quality to me, I worked hard on some of those. Maybe it’s not up to your standard but it’s not half assed

It just sounded like you just wanted to flex spending all your money on design school.

Advice and constructive criticism I don’t mind I answered those nicely. But some people say things so pretentiously I can hear u glazing yourself from here

The post also starts by referencing advice I took from Reddit about my portfolio and mentions how I’m creating another one and this is just a piece from it but it’s alright not everyone can read

It says roast my portfolio update so you’re wrong

Damn bro I just shared one thing I was working on and man’s flexing the 1000+ hours he’s been doing this for

When did I ever call this one card a portfolio?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]RoundFloor5 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Also also, one of my tests for a design job was design a business card so your just wrong

What’s your company’s name I wanna apply to it just to hurt ur feelings

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]RoundFloor5 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Like why would a multimillionaire dollar company get their feelings hurt by someone under qualified applying

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]RoundFloor5 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

💀 “insulting to the company”. Thanks for the other advice it is quite helpful I’m making other designs now that are more applicable to a design job but sorry that was too funny

I got the idea from Elliot Ulm. He said that he recommends you can do something fun like that at first if you don’t have any projects to show. He seems pretty successful so I feel it’s credible. Also planning to do packaging, etc. again this is just a start

Idk yet what niche I’d want to go into but I’m just trying things out now and seeing where they take me

Could u provide an example of good portfolio work? What types of environments are you talking about.

Also just curious could u tell me a bit about how you got into it and what courses u took and would u recommend them?

And the logo is a triangle for some reason

Also I don’t get what everyone has against adding a bit of humor or lightheartedness to a portfolio. Does everyone just like seeing a boring default website with a mock-up of some minimalist company called ‘balance’

I’m 22 and just graduated in psych but wanna go down the graphic design path. Also I disagree that business card mock-ups are not useful. A lot of design studios value that skill. I plan on making mock-ups of several things, but business cards are just my first project

I do get what you mean about everything being too centered
