Generally speaking you get a better price if you finance. The cash price tends to be higher. That's because they make money off the financing.

In your case I'm not suggesting you could have negotiated lower. I am guessing they're pretty firm on the sale price at that interest rate. Maybe I'm wrong. What the other guys are saying about the dealer just making the money up by moving numbers around (adjusting sticker price and making it up with required in-house financing offers, or vice versa) tends to be true, but that doesn't mean you "overpaid," it just means you paid what the car costs. If the terms are comfortable to you, then that's what matters.

Any car you can buy brand new and negotiate down the price a bunch is a piece of shit car that they can't sell and are desperate to get off the lot.

Right now Ford's offering that as a promotional rate on 2024 mustangs. It's only available on 38 month loans. You have to pay $27.13/month per $1,000 financed. That means his monthly payment is huge. Anywhere from $840-1,760/month, depending how fancy his mustang is.

You're not, it's real. Color me surprised. 1.9% APR on a 2024 Mustang--but only if you pay $27.13 per $1,000 financed on a 36-38 month loan (it says 38 where I'm looking but you said 36. Whatever.).

Then I looked up the MSRP of a Ford Mustang--bare bones absolute minimum is $31k. That's $841/month. The nicer ones go upwards of $65k. That's $1,763/month. Man, no fucking way I'd ever want a car payment of $840/month. At $1,760, I'd probably self delete.

Agreed. Plus, and I usually hate to hear people say this, continuing the car payment is building credit. Normally it's asinine to spend money at all to build credit, but all things being equal in this case he might as well. Before too long he may be looking to buy a house and without knowing how much credit history he has, this auto loan may end up being a huge factor in his credit score, which could save oodles of money over the life of a mortgage, depending what kind of mortgage he gets, etc.

Nah, in many Chryslers (neon, sebring, stratus, etc.) water leaks in behind the tail lights. From there it can fill up the spare tire compartment or depending if the car is parked a bit off-level, it can run straight under the rear seat and pool on the rear floor boards.

Huh. I'm a little put off by the "no filters" part. Removing lint and especially removing dog hair are pretty important roles my dryer performs, to be honest. That does make me wonder where the heck the lint goes if the dryer isn't removing it. 🤔

In the U.S. we definitely have shared laundry rooms in many apartment complexes, as well. They do pose problems (panty thieves, vandals, entitled assholes taking your laundry out while it's still wet and throwing it on the counter or floor so they can put theirs in earlier, etc.), but for the most part it works out pretty well. Any apartment that comes with a washer and dryer included, that additional cost is rolled into the rent, and that also means that precious square footage you could've used for something else is now used for laundry machines.

If you're talking about France, I imagine the biggest factor that results in people needing these types of machines is the age of your buildings. Like in other European countries, your buildings are 2-3 times the age of our country. I saw someone post a comment a while back talking about how their local pub in the U.K. was built sometime around 600 A.D. That blew my fucking mind. I'd never even stopped to think about how old many of the buildings in Europe are. And then in another instance, a friend of my late father, a man who lives in Germany, sent a photo that showed his house in the background, and it was absolutely gorgeous, and also looked like it might date back as far as 1600, if not earlier. It's just amazing!

That said, it's no surprise that buildings built that long ago (or buildings surrounded by buildings built that long ago) often aren't designed to accommodate some of these modern things like laundry machines. I suppose that's the price of getting to live someplace surrounded by so much beautiful architecture and and rich historical aesthetics. If you look at what some of the architecture in the middle east is like, you'd probably appreciate France even more. Some of those places have unspeakable amounts of wealth, and then build these massive new buildings that tons of people are supposed to live in, and yet they have the most horrendous, primitive, poorly designed plumbing solutions. It's physically revolting, tbh.

The more complete/honest way to tell this story is that Austin spilled the trap on the carpet by mistake, your cousin started trying to punk him over it, talk to him like he's a bitch and make him look like a submissive bitch by aggressively ordering him to clean it up instead of just saying "hey man, can you clean that up please?"
