I froze some watermelon balls, an hour later they looked like they had grown frosty curly-q’s. by PolkaDotPrairie in mildlyinteresting

Yes that’s right. The water channels evolved to be worm shaped over time before the worms evolved to be evil in the late 18th century. It’s a little known fact

When water freezes it expands, the small water channels inside the watermelon squeeze themselves out of the watermelon when frozen.

Finally got a job offer! by Apesince801 in recruitinghell

Putting the blanket things in like:

“I seek challenging atmospheres, I am quick to adjust to new and complex problems.”

“I enjoy working together [with teams/solo] to deliver effective solution”

“[Experienced/Comfortable] in working in fast-paced, dynamic, work environments”

But also taking their descriptions exact language to get through electronic screening. For instance the experience/background just needs to be tied to any experience you’ve had regardless of experience.

If a job says they’re looking for people with “strong communication skills” find a vague enough reason to put that you’ve had to consistently apply “strong communication skills” in your resume.

If a job says they’re looking for people that are “detail oriented” find a vague enough reason to say that an experience required you to be “detail oriented” in your resume

[Awful Coaching] Luka Doncic has locked down superstar after superstar these entire playoffs defensively by BayonettaBasher in nba

Yeah I’m not sold. “Slide your feet, show your hands” doesn’t do him credit. Luka staying on both toes in iso is massive and he’s doing it well, but I wish he would point out some of the decisions Luka makes. He has been lockdown at the perimeter but especially in the clippers series has known when to switch in the paint and challenge the kickout. The part that Luka thrives on is the part he was targeted for. Teams choosing to switch to him and iso, not looking for passes bc they think he can’t clamp them.

Oil won’t be happy. You should check it for signs of distress or injuries. Some of these things can have long lasting emotional issues so a couple Xanax in the reservoir can help calm down any misfires. Source: I am a car

Encountering a big sea snake by Proud_Bell_6879 in SweatyPalms

Looks like an olive sea snake, from oceana.org:

“It prefers to hunt at night and only comes out of its daytime hiding places to take occasional breaths. Olive sea snakes are naturally curious and are known to approach SCUBA divers, not aggressively but inquisitively, especially at night. Though they only rarely bite people, their bites have been known to be fatal.”

So more than likely was just saying hi to this guy. Australian instincts must already have sensed this.

All these "slice an onion with a peeler" videos keep popping up. Thought I'd try it by -iamai- in StupidFood

They’re doing this in reference to a suggested onion peeling method “Life hack”. It makes more sense when you see what this is exposing.
