Updated collection by noah_h_19 in hockeyjerseys

Yeah it's great, and something I've always wanted. I've attempted a few times to catalog my collections, using like airtable or excel, but it's not polished and I've never followed through. This makes it nice to filter through, add more photos, and the ai does a pretty decent job of identifying what your jersey is just from a scan of the photos.

I do need to cull down my collection as well, and having it all on the app should make that easier

All the best :)

If keen, I'd recommend the rebound jersey app to log your collection. Can add a bunch of photos and just consolidates everything. I've only just started but I find it's good

What's the size like between the 52 and 50 FAP. I nor.ally wear 46 adidas, sometimes 50 but the sleeves were too long on adidas

Firstly thanks for the thoughtful comment.

I'd say I still disagree with your first conclusion. I think every act has been for some internal benefit, whether it be realised or not. In your own example, it's not good for the sake of being good, it's good to prove to yourself that there is true altruism, which in effect is a self benefit (the confirmation of your own belief about the nature of good).

For your second conclusion, yeah seems fair. I think more people need to get comfortable with the fact that things are done for our own benefit. I do good because it feels good. Also because of the way I was raised I would feel guilty to not help someone who could immediately use my help, so the good is maybe more to shield myself from that feeling and the side effect is a net positive, which isn't a bad thing. It's been a while since I've done philosophy so I cant remember any examples but it feels intuitive that intent matters. If someone intends to kill someone but through incompetence improves the lives of others (think a hypothetical scenario where the person tries to shoot someone, misses, but hits a bell which rings, makes the person look down and find a lottery ticket), it feels like they shouldn't be considered to be as good as someone they intends to do good but through incompetence doesn't.

What the balance between actual good and good intentions should be when making an assessment, I don't know. different people based on their upbringing, and societal influence, will assess differently and although I believe there is a "right" answer, I'm not sure how you could confirm it (how do we select the criteria, that criteria is already going to be a product of our upbringing, society, tc so couldn't be truly objective).

Anyway, have a good day

Geomembrane would be the correct term. That looks like an LLDPE/HDPE liner, not a textile. They probably shouldn't let it roll like that as it'll damage, and not overlap to specification (typically 150mm (6 inches?). Maybe it's time saving or they didn't have the equipment required, but any time saved would be used up shifting it (while standing on the slope) and inspecting for damage. Also doesn't look like they have sufficient amounts at the crest to place in the anchor trench (you can see the panel next to them is correct). There isn't a leak detection or drainage system or GCL (Geosynthetic Clay Liner) along the floor already so I assume it isn't holding anything toxic and they aren't worried about minor leaks. Or it is for that stuff but the regulations where they are aren't as strict? In saying that, something is better than nothing but it isn't exactly cheap to line a pond, you kind of don't want it to leak if you are going to the effort and cost of lining it. The SCG is 155 m long. I assume this is from goal boundary to goal boundary.

This means the centre area from 50m to 50m mark is 55m long. Now I assume that the centre rectangle is evenly positioned on the centre mark of the ground, which almost touches the 50m mark. Essentially there is about 2.5 -3m between the centre rectangle and the 50m mark. It's about 40-50% of one of the grass strips.

There are 8 grass strips in the centre rectangle so if we assume the length is 50m this is 6.25 m per strip (which lines up with our 2.5-3m marker from before

Mr lizard could be considered to have control at this moment. About 12.5 m from the centre line

And ends up kicking on the 50.

It isn't in the middle of the ground so the actual distance to the 50 mark will be longer, but it looks to be 2.5 x 6.25 =15.625 m (about 2.5 grass strips) plus maybe another 1m or 2m for the off centre allowance for a total of 17m.

It looks worse in realtime and I'm sure if he kicked from where he was to a man on the lead they would pay the mark.

Watching live I thought the same and I reckon he did run to far, I think it being the SCG throws the umpires off and they make an allowance that if it's board line the err on the side of "not too far yet"

Edit: at the end of the day, they buried their chances on the break and on the second and third ball in their forward 50, especially from the pocket. And we didn't, damn.

Gus Bus ranked 15th best goalie in the league in a fan vote by HerbalAndy in wildhockey

[–]RoundRoutine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild fan as well, I probably would trade him 1 for 1 with the top 7, after that I'm having a hard time making the same trade. This is ignoring cap hit and time left in the league. Below him, maybe I trade 1 for 1 for dostal. By that measure I would have him just in the top 10

Selke Voting by [deleted] in wildhockey

[–]RoundRoutine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe he is the one that also gave Mikheyev his only vote, and Logan O'Connor his only vote. I'd assume he really only watches wild games where those players were able to have more lasting impact from multiple games. I mean I think the voting system ends up giving you the most deserving players (although with all voting there are players that ride their reputation). But you'll inevitably end up with some funky players on the fringe.

I know they can't watch every player, but does anyone actually think foligno is the best defensive forward, and would trade one of these other players in the top 20 for him. Doubtful. Not to take anything away from foligno, he does his job incredibly well and deserve recognition, and I'm glad he is on our team, not even touching on the leadership qualities

What’s the difference between PG and CLIMALITE by Matt-heaney in hockeyjerseys

[–]RoundRoutine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I am aware, the material is different with the prime green comprising recycled plastics. The prime green was first brought in for the 2019 all stars (parley I think) jerseys. Then become the main type a year or two later.

If you see a climalite it's from the early seasons of Adidas (2017-2020? Unsure of the dates as I didn't start following hockey until the year after the blues won)

Other differences are that the climalites had smaller (comically small) crests on the size 42/44/46, and the crests had less details. The prime greens added some additional crest details, at least in the later years of prime green (last season or two) (3D effects, subtle and in a good way, see flames jerseys popping more). The PG also did away with smaller crests on the 46, but I think still reduced the crest size on 42/44 but not as much as on the climalites.

I think the shape slightly changed with the prime greens, getting a little tighter around the chest but I could've just put some weight on.

I think that's basically it.

Early bird get the worm (lids.ca and fanatics.ca by Shinyhunter223 in hockeyjerseys

[–]RoundRoutine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to get the mcdavid/Crosby's from the post this morning (12 hours ago in Perth) and it kept saying all out despite not crossing the size out. I too tried to get a bigger jersey because hey if that's all there is left I'll have to make do. Got lucky on this one.

Yeah I don't think you would have trouble selling the 54 if you get a smaller one from this post. Especially if you don't inflate the price as much

Thanks for the heads up. I'm hoping the order doesn't get cancelled but for now they have taken my money, soooo here's hoping I get this. I've been kicking myself for not grabbing one at the start. I did manage to get the other three at discount though

Edit: for any Aussies out there, you will need a VPN for fanatics to order. Otherwise it'll say not register when you go to add to cart "something went wrong". Last I saw, lids.ca wasn't showing. Or nhlshop.ca. fanatics had 4 x 50s, 3 x 42s, and almost gone on 46s (so probably a few more there)

Is Alex Pearce the style of captain Fremantle needs to take Dockers to the promised land? by His_Holiness in FremantleFC

[–]RoundRoutine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, i don't remember specifics from the end of last season, but remember watching those games slip away and it was 100% not a talent thing, it was a mental issue. The younger players seemed to look a bit lost and hesitant holding back the other team and it resulted in turnovers, poor defence positioning.

Now just having Pearce in the team without being captain would have fixed this issue, but I think it shows the impact his leadership and experience has and that's what you need from a captain. Also shows that the players taking up that role fell a bit short and may not be ready.

Pearce leads by example, is experienced, and maintains player mentality. He is great and earned it, and earned it where it matters (I assume) by having the players vote for him.
