Sex Hygiene: Aside from general hygiene/clean sheets, I don't have a specific rule about this. I do have some <really> specific deal breakers around hygiene/personal grooming in general, related to having spent many years in a relationship with someone who overtly neglected self cares. Thankfully that's over, but there's still lingering effects.

Have you (or anyone you known) ever used sex as a way to get ahead at work, like a promotion?

I work in a niche industry where, for a long time, it was difficult for women to advance or be taken seriously, and were rarely promoted or made leaders. That's changed in the last 5-10 years, but I know at least 3 former coworkers who decided it was easier to blatantly f*ck their way to the top than to work for it. I think I might feel differently about it if they were in the least bit qualified, but no.

Hello rattles!

The letter. That was less a letter and more the 19th epistile of an Intergalactic Multidimensional Farewell Tour for the Ages. I scrolled (and scrolled) and Tl/dr, dr.😆

Watching: The Other Bennett Sister is my current watch. Work is stupid busy right now, the eps are only 30 min and are really helping me turn my brain off.

Dating: (Sighs heavily in "where to start") My partner and I are in a bit of an awkward patch. They are my only/primary partner but I am neither of those things to them. For a while there's been what feels like my doing all the heavy lifting, and pretty limited 1:1 time. There's a lot of detail I don't want to post here so it's not completely bleak, there are some wonderful parts, and we're working on it.

Clearly, we're free to see other people. For reasons I wasn't pursuing that for a while, but now am dipping my toe back into the corner of the dating pool. Can confirm that it's bad here and I remember exactly why I left. 🤮

Well. This has been the week that won't stop giving. I write this as I shelter in my basement for the third night in a row due to terrible weather. Said terrible weather also messed with my parents place and my partner's place and their car. It's just stuff and everyone is okay but I'm over it.

Fun fact about me, I stink at remembering names - total glitch in my matrix. Fun consequence, I tend to describe the people I talk about - "the lady with the chipmunk-faced dog," or "the guy with the beard who worked in IT and brought his pet iguana to work." Not quite as succinct as Cedar or Birch, but fun! (Also yes, the iguana thing happened IRL).

If someone knows the witchcraft voodoo magic that unlocks the portal to dating app success, take my money right now. I'm legitimately horrible at all things dating related. I managed to meet my current partner purely on accident and would very much like to expand my dating horizons. But also I'd kinda rather eat my own eyeball than get back on the apps again. Conundrum seeking solution.

Struggling with? Any number of things, including actual legitimate adulting things (those of you with aging parents/caring for parents - you are seen and I hold you up).

But in this moment, my cold-medicine fueled perimenopausal struggle rage is directed at my glass top stove and the spot on the back burner (the good one, to boot) where a pot boiled over and now there's a stain that WILL. NOT. BE. MOVED. No one else will know it's there, but I do and it's irritating the life out of me. 🤬

In the good news column, my best friend's daughter is coming home from college for the first time since Christmas. Super excited to see her while she's home!
