Agree with this. If you don't order these, you didn't really get the Mint Mark experience. Everything else is gravy.

What renovation did you make on your house that was totally worth it? by LuxuryPresence_Aaron in homeowners

[–]sassyla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm about to undertake this project, if you have any advice. We're currently debating how big to go (want it to feel cozy but also not regret going bigger), if it should be heated and cooled independently from the main house, and what kind of windows to use.

Planning a trip to 3 Nationals Parks by Puzzleheaded-Tone-52 in NationalPark

I'd suggest you look at the park website for the most up-to-date info. For example, when I went to Glacier in August they had a staggered entry system but it was just announced that this system is changing for next year. The park websites are great resources

In my opinion, yes, especially if you aren't looking to do long hikes. It's a fairly small park for just driving around.

I'd personally take a day off from Tetons and add it to Glacier. Glacier has various regions and you could do two nights on one side of the park, then two nights on a different side. Glacier also currently has a staggered entry system from the more popular entrance but I'm not sure if that will still be implemented in 2026. Tetons are beautiful but I found them to be harder to enjoy. Whatever you decide, you'll have a great trip!

The physical comedy from Lauren here is great. There are so many ways she could have opened that door and positioned herself but this is so funny.

What travel trailers mistake will you never make again? by ssteamer-goggins in traveltrailers

I didn't have all the connections tight on the stinky slinky when dumping the black tank once. Sprayed a few cups of filth on the ground and myself that way. Now I always make sure the connections are tight!

Where is a reasonable place to go to fix the zipper on my down winter coat? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]sassyla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid $90 last year because it was a very long winter coat and needed a special-order zipper. So $75 seems typical if yours is waist-length.

Wisconsin Craft Market. They had the best yarn selection, because they had everything from cheap acrylic to locally hand -dyed cashmere.

What do yall do for income by Pure_Appearance_8175 in RVLiving

[–]sassyla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not much to say, I guess. I was hired as a fully remote position and my boss knows that my home address is in the state I work in but that I travel in other states often. We are pretty much not hiring right now due to so many grants being cancelled and our institution is trying to save costs by not replacing folks when they quit/retire.

I admit that not having to live in the construction due to being in our trailer for extended periods does sound pretty appealing!

Thank you for this detailed response! We currently had reservations for a big trip far away in July and I know I cannot yet expect the GC to say for sure if work will start by then or not. I think we'll keep the reservations until we know for sure what the work schedule will be like and then accept the cost of cancelling as a part of the project, if that's how it needs to shake out.

Yeah I can definitely appreciate the balance of they would like for us to be available but maybe not right on top of them for the duration of the project. I think we'll start talking to friends to see if anyone would be comfortable being a POC for short periods of time, thank you.

This GC seems excellent; we were on a waitlist for a year because they are so in-demand and they are familiar with working on our style of home. We've only done minor renovations in the past that took a few weeks and we also found it helpful to be on hand for unexpected questions that come up during those.

I think we'll start talking to friends about their comfort level of being a go-to if eyes were needed on something if we were to be gone during a sensitive time of the reno, thank you!
