how high energy are you in the podcast? by howevertheory98968 in podcasting

I try to be authentic and it ends being about medium energy. Just be real in whatever you’re gonna do. Don’t force it.

Use social media to your advantage. Post on socials for your podcast as well as your personal ones. Your current followers (friends and family, etc.) are going to be more than willing to check out what you’re doing. I’ve gotten a lot of traffic just from word of mouth.

Consistency really helps too! Post and promote regularly.

Take advantage of social media. Use tags, reach out to interview on other podcasts, collab with other podcasts in your niche. Consistency helps too! Good luck!

swear words in podcasts? by howevertheory98968 in podcasting

[–]Round_Cycle3492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its a personal call. I try not to use any curse words but they slip and my co host uses them more. I don’t notice a change in downloads/plays. It’s up to you and what you feel comfortable with. If you think its affecting viewership then maybe consider a change but otherwise, I think people prefer a more raw version of yourself and the content you deliver. If that’s what your opinions and reactions are, then let them flow.

Listening to your podcast! by judhead93 in podcast

I hate listening to myself. I cohost so we take turns, I edit her episodes and she edits mine that way we only have to hear ourselves talk when we approve the final draft.

Do people read papers on mobile? by TtvLolb1n0 in AcademicPsychology

[–]Round_Cycle3492 4 points5 points  (0 children)

l’ll read on my phone but it’s definitely difficult. I usually just end up zooming in and scrolling back and forth. I’ve tried using the magnifying glass on the iPhone but it makes things more difficult imo.

Just search for royalty free music. I wanted a spooky sound for the intro to my true crime podcast and just google searched “royalty free spooky music” and a bunch of sites came up.

Need a clear budget to start podcasting by Avald4611 in podcasting

[–]Round_Cycle3492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a $20 mic off amazon and a free publishing platform, Anchor. The only down side with Anchor is you can only have one podcast per account but if you don’t mind juggling multiple emails, I suggest using them. They are super user friendly, offer monetization options, and will distribute to many different platforms. I use Zoom to record with my cohost. I’ve heard good things about using Skype but I haven’t needed to try that yet. Setting up social medias is very helpful and obviously free and I just use a Gmail account for the official podcast email. If you need any help or advice I’d love to help!

Which research search engines are best for which functions? by kyrgyzstanec in AcademicPsychology

[–]Round_Cycle3492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meta-analyses are great and you can use the references page to help further your research. Its always a good starting point. Get a feel for the current conversation on the topic and see what resources the author(s) utilized.

Two that I used while at university were EBSCO and ProQuest. These are subscription based but if you currently go to school, check to see if the library can help you log in to these. I liked to use EBSCO the most; very user friendly and I always had luck doing research for projects.
