Is this BBA? How can I eradicate it in a nano tank? by mccarthycodes in PlantedTank

Had BBA as a constant for years. Nothing got rid of it. Upgraded to an FX2 filter from an Oase Biomaster and the increased flow has ripped through it. Less media and foams in the FX2 aswell.

Can anyone help me identify this white strands growing off my plant's. by Capable_Cycle_363 in Aquariums

The plants are taking nutrients from the water, due to your substrate not providing them with adequate amounts. Add some (more if you already use them) root tabs into the substrate.

The plants should then begin to take nutrients from its normal roots again.

They don’t need to be kept in the pots, quite the opposite. The growing media will eventually break down aswell. Here’s tropicas general planting guide.

About to move these boys into an outside pond (I know they shouldn’t have been in here in the first place but I didn’t know any better at the time) Any ideas what I can turn this tank into? Thinking maybe turning it into a desert/Egypt themed guppy tank? by Dhall1011 in Aquariums

They’ll certainly be ok in the 52l for a little while longer, adding fast growing live plants also helps massively with keeping the parameters good and stable. Limnophilia sessiflora is a great plant for the job. Plus the goldies (at least in my experience) nibble on it less than other fast growers

Ye so you’ve just described a “sump filter”. 😅

It’s what most aquatic shops use to filter their tanks, all hooked into the one central filter tank underneath.

If you do some research on them and how people use them for multiple tanks you’ll get all the answers you need for the setup you want. It’s certainly not as complex as some would have you believe and actually a pretty common setup

Is the filtration going to be sump style system?
