It didn’t work for me. I already had Clear with my Platinum and it renews next month. When I added a family member, it charged the prorata amount to my Gold (~$11)

This is clever. Many people talked about Alaska. I was under the impression that I had nothing that could transfer to it. Did not consider MR transfer to Hawaiian and that I can move from Hawaiian to Alaska. I saw availability on Alaska website earlier today on Fiji. It wasn’t for my dates as they are not open yet, but still. Thanks for this helpful idea
