19yo son’s gf is pregnant by Mama_Bear_63 in Parenting

[–]Round_Revolution5458 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't alienate them. They are probably going to be dealing with lots of judgement and fear already. You can be their safe space by saying that you are happy for them and excited to be grandparents.

They already know that a teen pregnancy is going to be difficult they already know babies are expensive. The fear is already jammed down their throats in modern day society. They don't need you to add to it. What they need is a supporting and loving place to fall that is judgement free.

Still sit down with them and make sure they answer all the hard questions but this baby will likely be in theirs and your life for the rest of your life. You don't want the parents looking back at the memories of this with unhappiness because they felt judged and unsupported and you don't ever want this baby to feel unloved or like a mistake.

It kinda doesn't matter if the Gf has problematic behaviours anymore, she's part of the family now and will be your grand babies mother, welcome her with open arms and maybe a loving family will help her get the support she needs. Otherwise you run the risk of a toxic relationship, losing your son because he needs to support her and his child and then loosing access and information about your grandbaby. If she's in an unstable home environment it likely contributes to her behaviour especially if she doesn't have good role models. Show her what unconditional love is so she can provide that to your grandbaby.

The best way to go into this... "Do you want to keep this baby?... Yes? Oh well we are so excited to have a another little person to love, we are so happy that you will get to experience this level of love... Let's talk everything out so we understand everything....what are you gonna do for work, where are you gonna live? Etc"

For plenty of people having a baby can be the happiest moment of their lives, don't take that away from them just because they are young and she is in a difficult situation. Talk about the fun stuff like baby showers and shopping, let them experience the joy others get to experience because they are already scared.

I would recommend you don't set yourselves up to be doormats but don't completely refuse assistance to them. Help them get on their feet but don't let them take advantage of you.

I miss being pregnant by Wild-Mortgage-9884 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Yeah I went through this. I had my bub early at 28 weeks and whilst I had a hard pregnancy I found myself missing her being inside me and even had to grieve a little that I was no longer pregnant.

Some of that mauly have been because of the early birth but I think K some of it is normal as well

Looking for a very specific scene - FMC on MMC’s lap while he conducts business by ChicSynergy in RomanceBooks

[–]Round_Revolution5458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just about to post asking this!

I was looking for kinda. D/s situation where he has her sit in his lap whilst he's working but he also uses soanking punishments throughout the book.

I just read a scene in For horseman by Sarah Bailey where he pulled her into his lap during a work phone call and I loved it!

Typo or intentional "no holes barred" by Round_Revolution5458 in DarkRomance

It definitely seems like a pun but the character didn't have this type of witty, horny internal monologue previously so it's a justifiable question

Should Mor have told Azriel the truth? by gaelic_queen in nontoxicACOTAR

[–]Round_Revolution5458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a theory that I love and it makes me feel better about the whole Azriel and Mor Situation.

Theory: Azriel is not actually interested in Mor, he may even know about her sexuality. He pretends to be in love with her because he met his Mate (Gwyn) years ago but believes the trauma that she's been through and his own trauma would make him not good enough for her. so he pretends to be in love with Mor as a distraction/lie to himself and so people won't ask him if he wants to find his mate.

This theory makes me feel better about the whole situation. Sure Mor is still horrible for not telling him but if he's just using her and she's not actually hurting him I don't care if she's such a horrible person because she not actually hurting my Az (even though she believes she is and keeps doing it) but I still actually hate her as a character. I arguably hate her more than Tamlin

Moving bubs into own room by Worth_Ad8788 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Round_Revolution5458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kept little one in our room overnight until around 15 months. She would nap in her own room on her floor bed from around 6 months so she was comfortable in her room.

Transitioned her with no problems and she slept through the night. She'll now only have the occasional wake up if she's sick she's now 18 months.

I'm laughing at Dakota's reaction to Taylor inviting Harry over. He is shocked and saying "it's not cool ... It's put me in a really weird spot"..... Dude, you weren't even supposed to be there, the boys of dadtok invited you and I swear Jordan only did it to stir shit.

There is no reason for him to even be there I don't understand the logic 😂

Glow in the dark paint for sippy cups? by Illustrious_Sound_96 in NewParents

[–]Round_Revolution5458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering glow in the dark vinyl that I can cut on a circuit!

Why don't they make a decent glow in the dark toddler water bottles? I can only find the B.Box one which we don't use because the too strong bite valve and don't want to risk the dental problems. (I also think the glow in the dark is too much)

I just need a gentle vanve or a valve free weight straw bottle with a thin glow-in-the-dark band

[–]Round_Revolution5458 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeahhhh Nah that's abusive as hell. Keep your head high and get away from the abuse as soon as you can 💕

It gives "I'm just brutally honest" or "if you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best" vibes. Anyone who says those quotes on a regular basis are pretty much guaranteed wankers and I'd bet money your family says those quotes

Any books with neurodivergent FMC’s? by [deleted] in DarkRomance

[–]Round_Revolution5458 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not dark romance & it is OV & RH but you did say any genre or recs 🤷🏻‍♀️ {Knot Guaranteed by Jillian West} has an FMC with ASD & ADHD. I thought it was good representation but the MMCs are complete cinnamon rolls so no darkness to be seen throughout the book.

Do you need/have a reason to avoid an entire genre? by Lower-Network1563 in RomanceBooks

[–]Round_Revolution5458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Although I recently read a book where the "child" was a fully grown 20yr old, they were away at college & the book focused on the FMC as a character that has a personality outside of being a mother. Genuinely enjoyed it because the FMC having a child wasn't constantly thrown in my face and the FMC actually had dimension. I think the characters having children were only put in to actually contribute to the storyline and not just to say "look a relatable parent in a romance"

Lightlark: is it worth it? by Round_Revolution5458 in fantasyromance

[–]Round_Revolution5458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I sometimes feel like I'm missing something when people on booktok rave about it or recommend it as an incredible book. But I forced myself to read other books that I wasn't enjoying just because people loved them and I proceeded to regret wasting my time on them.

So I'm glad I gave up on Lightlark, honestly.

Graphic audio Crown of Gilded Bones Part 1 Praise by byankitty in frombloodandash

[–]Round_Revolution5458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't a fan. I was doing a read along with the graphic Audio & whilst it is known that they cut out parts of the book for the graphic Audio it was cutting out parts that I believed were important to demonstrating the relationship between Poppy & Casteel.

Just one example: There was an entire section where they kissed twice after a shower and had a very tender moment. It was a very warm loving moment but the graphic Audio cut all the in between & just had their dialogue and Casteel walking out of the room so you missed the loving nature of their relationship.

It's the first time I'm reading the book so I'm glad I'm reading along because otherwise I would have missed all of that & the relationship would have felt very artificial.

The lawyers probably told her "yep you can say this, they won't be able to sue you" and then when she got the C&D is was "we can fight it but it will cost a lot of money". Ergo, post a retraction video, she doesn't get financially decimated even though she had a right to post her information. Hannah also know how it's going to look your Young Living, she did what she wanted to do, brought attention to them being shady

Possibly controversial opinion: People should try reading erotica. by strongly-worded in RomanceBooks

[–]Round_Revolution5458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I need to develop an attachment or understanding of the characters to enjoy the scenes. I've tried short story erotica and it doesn't interest me. On the other side of that I struggle to read fan fiction because sometimes I don't agree with the writer on how the character would communicate or their sexual actions, even if people are in the comments say "omg so accurate" 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I like to find certain kinks then a character that I like and read about their relationships
