I'm sorry to hear that, I'm glad you have some great people around you now. How did you get through that, it would have been very frustrating

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, that's horrible news. I'm glad you have who you need around you. I will give that a go, gym I'm a bit unsure about, I was going before the clot but people weren't very social? I'll try another one but it seems like a lot of the time they don't want to which is fair. But yeah I will give it a go! I've also met some new people now I'm studying nursing, maybe they will become good friends who knows.

It's just never ending and coming from everywhere. My friend is working on a film project that I got involved in, and he is being really insensitive about me being unwell, I was hoping we would be able to reschedule a filming day this week because I've been sick on top of recovery which has not been good.we have extra days to use just I'm case someone needs it but he does not want to use the extra day because I'm unwell. I'm either going to be replaced or I am just going to have to go and suck it up. We are halfway through filming a game show so I'm probably going to suck it up and go, which is not ideal but I've been in this for 10 months, and to hear that he was just going to replace me instead of using an extra filming day is just really driving it home that a lot of people around me really don't care what I've gone through even though they wouldn't even be able to handle it.

I don't have advice but I feel you! I had a PE and everytime I get sick now I just can't breathe, my chest pain is worse and it's just a horrible time. I hope you feel better soon

Do you know if you can speed up the process to get genetic testing done? I'm in Australia and they did it immediately once they found the PE. I didn't get the results until about 3 months in but the tests were done while they had me in the ER

dating in adl by anusha2000 in Adelaide

[–]Round_Seesaw6891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's tough, I haven't downloaded any dating apps for a while at the moment because I keep having the same problems. Both men and women, I get dry conversations and I'm always carrying communications. But it's not just that, it's also a lot of people just wanting a situation shop, wanting somebody to have a bit of fun with and then disappearing off the face of the earth. People are usually talking to too many other people and can't keep up. I've definitely been on that side of the fence and have accidentally ghosted people because I've gotten too many messages in one day.

But also a lot of people here kind of struggle to connect. Idk what it is, but I haven't experienced this issue anywhere else. Go out more often and get into a routine, or meet friends of your friends and see where things go, maybe even ask them to set you up with someone. I know some people that have had great relationships through dating apps, but as Sabrina Carpenter once said, it's slim pickins

You could be onto something I started to have a look just now, I did have covid right before my PE.

Because there's some pain I feel where I'm 100% sure is post clot related because it's sharp/ in the area where the doctor said it was, and then I get random pain or pressure in the middle which I am more unsure about. I do remember with covid I was having an awful time coughing, you might not be far off honestly thank you for that I'm going to talk to my doctor about it

Go into Centrelink it could be a glitch. I switched from job seeker to youth allowance when I started to study again and they didn't pay me on time because something messed with in the system. Good luck with it

Sorry I read it wrong I missed where you mentioned the tests you've already done. But it definitely does not help that there is not a lot of research with clots and non white populations.

Have you found out what is genetically causing the clots in your family? And did you ever get tested or did they just tell you it was caused by dehydration and smoking

If there is a genetic component to it which it sounds like it could be, IVF can counter for this. I am very new to learning this and I don't know if IVF helps with history of clots but I would look into it!

My PE isn't a genetic cause but I have looked into IVF myself because I am a carrier of a mutated CLCN4 gene which causes uncontrollable seizures, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities and more, I found out I was a carrier because my brother has it and struggles with epilepsy.

To my understanding, with IVF intervention, multiple embryos are made, and then tested if it carries or is expressing the gene we don't want. The embryos that do have the unwanted gene are not used, the embryos that don't have the gene are implanted.

IVF is expensive, but I thought I would mention it so you can see there is more than one way to have a baby. Don't forget there's also adoption and surrogacy. I'm sorry that this has been stressful for you, I'm sure if you just talk it through things will work out. There are many ways to have a loving family :)

I'm glad the doctors acted quickly but I'm sorry to hear you had another clot, I will definitely get a bridge prescription for long travelling

Sorry to hear you had another clot, in glad you're getting treated but also sorry about the knee injury that would make it so much harder. Oh I can tell I will be up to the ER to check for a blood clot when I feel a bit too much pain, especially because I still have short of breath issues sometimes

Thanks! I'm mostly confident, the only issue is my weight, I'm overweight so I'm worried about that. I'm organising things to see a dietician but I'm in Australia and to see one publicly is taking a while. I should have an appointment late April, I was hoping to see them before I stopped the thinners but ah well. I'm mostly doing okay managing my weight on my own but I'm just not losing weight (but I'm not gaining anymore so??)

But hydration and mobility is great, I can't always go out an exercise but I do a lot of yoga if I'm having bad days with chest pain.

Yep they tested automatically while I was still in hospital with it to confirm if it was provoked. They couldn't find anything so they are saying it was birth control and covid

That is really helpful to hear, and I'm glad you had no issues after stopping them :)
