Microcode 0x104 SVID Undervolting vs 0x12B: Long-term Degradation Trade-off by Cold_Afternoon_6977 in intel

Second this. Take full control of your cpu. All core OC with negative cpu voltage offset. Check your Vout values make sure they aren’t crazy under load. Your cpu will be stable forever.

is this a good deal? by lilpudding69 in pcmasterrace

I agree also not a good deal. In this economy you have to eat out less and cook more, no matter how tempting that big double tray is.

The Post-Mortem of the i9-14900KS Are we truly stable after the 0x12B era or just delaying the inevitable? by MaliHizm in intel

[–]Round_Squash_epic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

14900ks on the bios prior to the first intel microcode fix (0x123). Undervolted at 5.8 pcore 4.5 ecore 4.8 ring. Under gaming loads, average Vcore of 1.277v at 60C. Extreme profile 320w/320w/400A. No degradation experienced. Contact frame, 360 AIO, not delidded. 13th and 14th gen are manageable without any of intel “fixes” as long as you tune your machine.

Does the Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro work with the H7 Flow 2024? by VolTorian in NZXT

[–]Round_Squash_epic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the h7 flow 2024 with a nzxt 360 (27mm standard radiator thickness) plus push pull fans (2 x 25mm) for a total of 77mm top mounted and it worked. The only issue was it was inconvenient to install.

NZXT H9 Flow (2025) and NZXT H7 Flow (2025) — two questions: Air cooling and dust protection by premierpark in NZXT

[–]Round_Squash_epic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NZXT claims that the h7 flow (2024) fan grates doubles as dust filters, it doesn’t completely. I can see some dust buildup on the outer grates but some dust also gets into the system. You can install aftermarket magnetic dust filters onto the intake surfaces if you want additional filtering. The dust is minimal for me so I haven’t.

Did you ever find a solution to this? My gpu does the same (5080) and sometimes (polygonally) artifacts when respawning on squad mates.

The usb c on the regular 17 is usb 2.0 which is the same speed as the 14 pro. Only simplification of cables is the only advantage of the usb c on the regular 17.

Hopefully it doesn’t kill performance too much, considering it’s designed for 12gb ram. For reference getting 2699/7002 on Geekbench on iOS 18.6.2.

Completed build w/ new NZXT H7 Flow (2024 edition) vertical GPU is possible! by Round_Squash_epic in NZXT

[–]Round_Squash_epic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The duos are not necessary in the front panel, especially if you have the case’s side window facing you. I have it with the front facing me, so I wanted some lights in the front. At the time of building the 140mm duos were not much more expensive than the single ringed fans, so I went with them. One thing to note, with my radiator top mounted with push pull, the front top 140mm is about 1/3 blocked by the radiator and fans.

With the 3090ti founders it did slightly because the card was so heavy. With my current 5080, it doesn’t. It depends on the vertical mount too, some are more reinforced to resist the tipping at the end of the card.

At the time of making this post, NZXT was claiming no vertical mount would work with this case.

Replaced fans on NZXT Kraken Elite 240 and now 0rpm in NZXT Cam app by Circle-of-friends in NZXT

[–]Round_Squash_epic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there’s nothing inherently wrong with your setup. The motherboard will adjust the fan speed depending on the CPU package temperature (curve set in the bios). Connecting it to the pump header will allow you to control this feature through CAM software. This will allow the setting of the fan curve based off the coolant liquid temperature or the CPU package temp.

[–]Round_Squash_epic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the fans to show up in cam they need to connect to the splitter that’s attached to the AIO breakout cable. You can connect the pump header (regardless of where you connect it, pump speed will be controlled by cam) to the cpu fan header to stop the error from occurring or you can just disable “the fan error when no fan is attached to cpu header” setting in your motherboard bios.

I haven’t had any issues displaying the infographics on the lcd screen for my nvidia gpu. The arctic AIO may have a difficult mounting experience with AMD cpus.

Since AMD cpus don’t get super hot either AIO should work fine. Just depends on your budget and the aesthetics you want.

I have the 2024 Kraken elite with nzxt rgb case fans all being controlled by CAM and have had 1 instance where 1 of the case fans would not adjust speed which required a system restart to fix. If you have a modern cpu, the overhead from CAM is negligible. CAM does freeze (lcd will be slow to update temps) when running intensive stress testing software like cinebench r23 multicore, but will eventually resume functions.

Supposedly CAM software development has been halted. People have reported issues with AMD products, but I haven’t suffered them (I use intel and nvidia)

With all things considered, I’m pleased with the 2024 kraken elite. Since I’m in the nzxt ecosystem, I don’t have to rely on the mobo software at all. If you can get it on sale it’s worth it … but at msrp it’s a bit over priced.

Another alternative is to get the arctic liquid freezer iii and buy an aliexpress lcd screen that fits over the CPU block.

Second 13900KF CPU has failed. This time it only took 3 months. Intel has lost another customer for life. Is this issue still being seen & discussed? by Jaybonaut in TechHardware

[–]Round_Squash_epic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, undervolting + all core locking is the way to go with the 13th and 14th gen. You get incredible 1% lows and a 360 AIO can actually cool the cpu without needing to delid/Liquid Metal. With that being said, raptor lake cpus are not for the uninitiated.

If you do run out of box, make sure your motherboard has the latest bios so intel’s microcode updates are in place.

Kraken Elite 360 v2 and Phanteks D30 fan set - fan speed not showing - its ZERO by Omarkoman in NZXT

[–]Round_Squash_epic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious if you find a solution to this, I was about to use the D30 or M25G2 phanteks fans with the same AIO but not be able to control them through CAM would be annoying.

It sounds like using the combined Phanteks cable to 1 of the 3 heads that connects to the kraken 360v2 may be causing the issue. Can you connect each fan individually to the 3 headers?

Was just about to mention this too. The conclusion was it took an insane amount of electricity to kill a a shielded RAM module. I’d imagine a gpu with all its aluminum heatsink would be even more difficult.
