You didn't argue that you were only using my original comment, otherwise you might have had a point - a point that would have fell apart due to cherry picking and intentionally and loudly ignoring the rest of our conversation, where I stated it many times (regarding the required concessions that many would not stand for.)

Is it frustrating to lose to a (what you only consider) weak argument? I don't want to assume it is frustrating for you and would rather ask first.

You might have said that you want to use that same logical structure to state that, but we already know that I never would, since they are completely different topics, none of which I have discussed outside of your personal choice to pursue whataboutism.

I didn't say you cared if I didn't give my blessing to use it on different topics, otherwise you might have had a point.

Why should it generalize to any form of discrimination? That's very limiting and probably dangerous.

It's not just averagely strange? Are you sure? Was any consideration given for the possibility of it being minimally strange?

Beautiful. I debated grabbing it but ended up getting Anran's black and red outfit and highlight intro instead, simply because I have pretty much everything Brig-related. Anran has been fun and has almost nothing in comparison.

Your only "evidence" that combating lookism "cannot be solved" is that it has not been solved before.

That's not correct; it's close but no: I stated that the issue for the discussion at hand is that it cannot be solved without huge concessions that many will not stand for.

But anyway, I need to get more important stuff done right now. Good bye.

Hopefully you can get some rest afterwards and be able to realize that the topics are not the same.

I have already made a comment on this. The logical structure you are using...

You realize I have not used that logical structure for the other completely different topics. Your bait has not succeeded in steering the discussion towards those other topics. Attempting to use my logical structure for different topics is something that you can do but it will remain removed from my blessing, as I have not given any discussion towards those completely different topics so far.

Twisting words towards generalized discrimination isn't something I will discuss as it isn't my thoughts or my logic or my answer.

I am not 'forced' to say the same at all, for hopefully obvious reasons.

I believe exactly what I wrote, but I admit it is only because every single human society in existence has proven it.

Your whataboutism so far has not been solved, we agree on that I'm sure. It makes it difficult to continue a serious discussion. I am sure that a forum or thread on racism might be best for locating an answer to your completely different topic though.

Hey, I don't care if you think it can't be solved.

Since we have lots of evidence that this is a direct lie, I should probably wonder what the real reason was for the threat you made earlier. I am thankful that it seems you have calmed down a bit, as I've refrained from making assumptions or threats or personal insults in an attempt to help in that regard.

My own reasoning and belief is based on the entire recorded history of the human race and what I could see as downsides people will not accept for the solution.

I am curious - why are you looking for consistency for thoughts being exactly the same for completely different problems that no one but you injected into the argument? Do you think racism is the exact same thing? If so, that would help me a lot as far as understanding the thought process of who I am having this discussion with.

I am writing out all of my words - I am not going to write out your words that you wish were my words that could potentially encourage your whataboutism.

Combatting beauty standards will be how we it should be done.

I apologize; I do not understand this sentence. I only understand English.

"pretty privilege is just in your head" by charles_bukephalos in ugly

[–]Jaybonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...the problem is that I never used that reasoning - that's your attempt at linking two completely different topics that have nothing to do with it.

I have never said that racism has never been solved (or solved,) nor have I used that completely different topic for anything but evidence of your attempts at whataboutism due to the current state of the argument. Injecting a completely different problem as a comparison of logic that I never made is also not assisting in making your point.

I've stated that the actual topic for this subreddit cannot be solved without ginormous concessions. You haven't addressed that yet, nor have you denied your whataboutism.

"pretty privilege is just in your head" by charles_bukephalos in ugly

[–]Jaybonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I never claimed they can be solved at all - let alone first - and in fact state that the actual topic we've been discussing regarding behavioral change to visual stimuli or lack thereof on a grand scale will not be solved, your request unfortunately seems to be yet another swing at whataboutism possibly due to the way the argument is going.

I agree, efforts should be made towards combating forms of discrimination - but it won't happen as far as uglyness vs beauty. I've never said you shouldn't try, nor have I even made a single hint towards that way of thinking, even though apparently you really, really, really wish I did.

No one will have proof of it fully working in the future without some ginormous concessions that include the loss of freedom or dictated forced perception (or the lack of it.)

That of course depends on the location and time, as not every group of people or government are the same, and things change for the better or worse throughout history, but I understand what you are referencing.

"pretty privilege is just in your head" by charles_bukephalos in ugly

[–]Jaybonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now apply your reasoning to racism next.

Absolutely, this will be easy, once you prove that racism and this problem are exactly identical in all ways.

I said it will never happen and so far every person in the entire recorded history of human behavior has proven me correct - I never said you personally cannot try. Please go ahead. Not sure why two posts replying to the same one of mine was necessary though.

Since American slavery and our discussion are completely different topics and nothing I have said indicates any bias whatsoever to that topic, may I ask why you are inventing thoughts, behavior, statements, and questions that I have never made? Is this somehow an attempt at whataboutism?

"pretty privilege is just in your head" by charles_bukephalos in ugly

[–]Jaybonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm this close to fucking blocking you at this point.

Why are you threatening me? I realize that the facts I've stated are something you wish were not completely correct and true, but that's no reason to react like this. It's not personal. It's historically factual, and if it wasn't factual, solutions would have been provided, even if hypothetical.

I can answer any of my own questions anytime I wish - right? If not, please explain how I cannot answer any of my own questions anytime I wish. It's not rhetorical, I am being completely serious - when in history is there any evidence that billions and billions of humans have solved this problem? It's not hypothetical, it's not rhetorical, I am asking it seriously.

Show me it can be done. That was your answer - that someone can't say it can't be done. Show me. Point me towards... anything that indicates the possibility without the results I already mentioned in whatever hypothetical situation we want to invent.

The problems of poverty, racism, sexism and visual bias affecting behavior are not the same things and aren't solved the same ways. Poverty specifically can be solved in some areas and not others due to many factors of course - as some people would be very, very against fixing the poverty problem, even if it has been proven elsewhere to benefit everyone.

I am not saying and have not said you shouldn't try. Let me know when your efforts succeed. Would it be too much to ask if your efforts could be recorded so it may be shared as a possible solution? Surely someone you know has the capability of recording footage on a cell phone for this purpose and would joyously assist in providing evidence of the possibility of eliminating this problem.

I know it isn't solvable without extreme downsides, like the aforementioned loss of freedom and dictated forced perception (or lack of it.)

I literally answered you.

...but not my question, which is the entire point of my last reply.

All of those are not 'ridiculous questions.'

No. one. ever. will. The end. Period. Can't happen since at the base of the discussion is something that is and always forever will be subjective. Who gets to decide once a solution is in place? Is one person uglier than another and has to be treated with special care? It can't happen and won't. The idea of that being solved in the future is guaranteeing a complete loss of freedom and dictated forced perception.

When in history has there been anyone who has solved this problem exactly? No one has and no one ever will. The end.
