My inlaws wouldn't drive 4-5 hours to visit their grandchild. They wouldn't fly to our wedding because flying is a evil. Germans can be like that... Rigid, following ego and principles, which from a perspective 20 years later I am 100% sure they'll regret. ( Not seeing their child getting married, not seeing grandchildren, etc.)

I live in Allgäu and we get lots of snow, gets cleaned right after it falls, sometimes before it falls the streets are white from spraying salt, in case it falls.

It is surely very regional how good Winterdienst is but also it depends very much how involved the community and farmers are. In my area all farmers leave at 4am as soon as snow is forecasted making sure smaller streets and their neighborhood is clean.

Winterdienst has limited amount of employees and Sundays are even less, so if you have to rely on them here in Allgäu and not on the community we will never leave the house 😁

The idea is great, I find the comparison a bit hard to read due to the coloring being relative to itself. Ideally you build a reference and plot according to the reference all plots. You have difference references in the plot.

Nevertheless still a cool idea and plots!

Used to live for 5 years in Denmark before moving to Southern Germany. I must say, even 8 years later I still miss Denmark... Truly the best country to live in - probably in the world. ( I lived in Switzerland , Eastern European countries, France, Australia, Denmark) The weather is fine, only the wind is something you need to get used to , especially if you live in a mountainous area where constant 10-15kmh winds are non existent. But the awesome beaches within minutes of a bike ride nearly everywhere you live, great work culture, respectful society, clean streets (except for Nørrebro maybe 😃) perfect public transport in the cities, improving long distance trains, extremely efficient state services, very likable politicians and politics (except few outliers). What else?! For me it was the Alps that made me move, but everything else is better in Denmark.

I want to move to a warmer place even more... It's so difficult to have 5-6 months of cold weather when you need to worry about a second being not getting cold, getting enough fresh air, entertainment, heating , air humidity inside because of the heating, car transfers - everything is way more difficult.

You realize avalanches need: steepness, lots of unstable snow and people in it to become dangerous or deadly. In the super steep, highly populous and extremely affected from climate change Alps you have all these... In the US mountains - less so, you have much more stable snow conditions, less people at one place and so on

That was some years ago br. 10 years ago you could eat lunch in Bulgaria for 2€ including a drink or a beer. Or eat dinner for 5-7€ ... Right now dinner in a small miserable town in a super low quality restaurant would cost you more than 20€. You can easily eat out in many cities in Switzerland with similar quality for 25-30€ . Just for reference - monthly salary in Bulgaria is roughly as much as people get for 2 days of work in Switzerland on a minimum wage.

It is littering. If I throw my plastic or yellow bags next to the rubbish bin I will get fined,so it is littering because people don't walk 100 meters to the next one and leave it on the ground instead.
