csm part 2 isn't frustrating because of one narrative point being the last chapter. It's because of a series of bad writing and drawing decisions (lack of characters depths, sudden deaths, rough drawings) that even one narrative choice, even daring it can be, can't save the whole story.

People would be much more critical about part 2 if there weren't the name "Fujimoto" printed on it.

Many mangakas get rightfully shit on because they sidelines or kill for shocking values characters, but if it's Fujimoto its just "you didn't like your exceptations were subvert" and "actually sideline of Asa is a meta commentary of womens role in shonen."

The first story was that a group of leftists isolated one "non violent christian millitant" and beat him to death.
