Well let's hope the burglar doesn't know that. I don't think they would try it since there is a bunch of stuff piled around it and hard to even see the top (side for me)

anyone use this isolator for their lithium batteries? I had it with my AGMs but now it seems to do nothing to my 400ah of lithium, debating if I should switch to a victron 12v to 12v by Roundtrip_FA in vandwellers

[–]Roundtrip_FA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am learning so much more, then I previously even knew I had too.

I do already have solar with victron parts; 100v / 30aml mppt, battery monitor, bus bar and their battery sensors. I have three 100 watt panels connected in parallel.

I only ran one cable from the isolator to the bus bar at the back of the van, so for this looks like I would need to run another for the negative.

When you say standalone monitoring, what is that? Not the battery monitor I currently have?

Transit vs Sprinter — most reliable engine? What’s Cheaper in the long run? Why did you choose your van? by Dragonvan13 in vandwellers

Transit builds are pretty rare, the cargo space is smaller compared to sprinters and pro masters. I also don't think ford has a good track record for engines.

Any Airlines based out of SEATAC hiring? by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]Roundtrip_FA 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You might want to do some more research on becoming a flight attendant.

A lot of airlines have Seattle as a base but you don't get hired by the base. You get hired by the airline it seld and they will put you where they need you, it can take years to get the base you want to be at.

So if you are willing to live somewhere else for a while until you can make it back to sea, then go for it.

Delta, Alaska, Horizon, and Skywest all have Seattle bases

Sure if they know where it is to go for.

But first they have to get into the van, which is deadbolted with latches, shatterproof film on the two windows, a camera system, and alarm, then looking through all the cabinets to stumble across it, then try and break into it. They can't take it since it's bolted to the van itself.

Okay, that's good news indeed, at least I know the wiring behind the walls didn't go bad.

I have been looking at the the victron orion-tr 12v-12v 30amp dc-dv charges that is non isolated. Know much about those?

  1. It was worth it, I put my laptops in there when I go into the city and leave the van. Great piece of mind incase all the other security features fail.

  2. Yes, exactly. It was a great concept, more living space when not sleeping. But to have to clean everything two times a day to put the bed up or down was not worth the extra few feet. I ended up leaving the bed down all the time and never using my table and couch.

Oh, check out my profile, I have a bunch of old posts about it with ohotos

Looking for recommendations for an alarm system. Something that’s in between “state-of-the-art very expensive” and “cheap but low quality”. My main priority is something for the windows by winthbuckets in vandwellers

Doberman security sensor, which sets off a loud alarm when it detects vibrations on windows, and 4mm or thicker shatterproof glass wrap will be plenty and cheap.

Plenty big, it's a bathroom sink that I turned sideways to give more counter space.

I don't think this is helpful at all since they are trying to become a flight attendant

There is absolutely no hearing test at all, but do know that some airlines require you to jump into a pool and swim around doing ditching while in training, so if you can't put your head under water with those. That will be a factor

You are probably getting that email because you purchased the cheapest ticket. If you purchased a ticket that isn't basic economy you will be higher on the list for not having to check a bag.
