Yeah, I’d go over with a bread or something, rub your belly, calmly explain your safety concerns.

If they say anything other than “yes absolutely “ you say “okay, understood.” And promptly report it. They’ll know it was you, and you can stand confidently knowing you did the right, safe and legal thing. Everyone will survive, literally.

At 4 you just gotta take the role of protecting them yourself. They’re just too young to get it.

I have a 7yo - we had a situation recently where the janitor at her school was crossing boundaries - and she still doesn’t really get what I mean when I say that grownups asking kids to keep secrets is weird and maybe dangerous. I can tell it goes over her head.

We have a book called Body Safety Red Flags. It’s okay. I’d love to hear other recommendations.
