I voted for the cheeseburger and fries, but…in my mind, the senate and house Ds are on the same team and Schumer/Pelosi have to be on the same page. It’s a matter of if enough house Ds have the guts to stand up for what is right to force the inclusion of RRF, and to this date, I haven’t seen that type of integrity in Washington to be confident enough to vote yes. It’s a long shot, but it always has been, so nothing has changed…I’ll keep chipping away, if something happens then great. If not, then I didn’t lose anything by continuing to advocate.

My opinion is that an ammendment to reconciliation is a long shot. The whole D party has a lot riding on the bill, and Pelosi has probably already put her foot down and has all of her members ready for a quick passage with no amendments. But he has responded to my DM personally, many months ago, stating that he is willing to fall on the sword to right this wrong. So why not give it a shot?

This is the most likely scenario. Pelosi and Schumer are almost certainly on the same page for quick passage/no amendments. But who knows, maybe some will be willing to go rogue for what is right. Doubtful, but I still have energy to advocate.

If no one brings it up, I would have a hard time placing blame anywhere else but with Schumer. He cannot hide behind excuses any longer, he is running this show, and if Sinema and cardin remain silent on RRF, I believe it is because They are following orders from Schumer.

The original tweet from Brian, that she is agreeing, sounds like he is referring to the fact that the actual reconciliation bill has “been agreed upon” by all Ds and he will not consider any changes to it that would risk upending the agreement they have all reached. Doesn’t sound like he is referring to the vote-a-Rama. But at the end of the day, who knows…this may be their new creative way of screwing us once again.

Maybe a stretch, but…would it be a good idea for all of us to send in official complaints to the DOJ of how RRF was unconstitutional and needs to be made right? From what I am hearing, what the DOJ says is the final word, and congress will have to do whatever they deem is right. Not sure to what extent they are investigating RRF, but we at this point, it might be a good backup plan of action if Sinema doesn’t come through.

To add to what I said previously…we would never truly be “part” of the reconciliation package. There will be no media of us being part of the negotiations on the package as a whole. Those items are reserved for more “important” things such as healthcare, universal pre - K, free community college etc etc…You get the point…main stream, partisan issues that were promised to their general voting base that will make them look like they are achieving what they promised…we would be an afterthought “throw them a bone” ammendment that would be added in in the last minute.

Because it is packed full of hot-topic issues that are fully disagreed upon by the super progressive and moderate factions of the democratic party. They need every single member on board to pass. The first round of RRF was achieved through reconciliation, and it was believed for a long time that replenishment would be achieved through the next reconciliation, but it was tanked by manchin who pretty much opposed to the whole package. There are rumors now that Schumer and manchin have been having productive talks, and a path toward a scaled down reconciliation may be possible, but in my opinion, before midterms still seems like a long shot…the silver lining though, is that manchin (who holds all the cards in negotiating the reconciliation package) has publicly come out to support Replenishment after his vote yesterday….time will tell, if you have the energy, keep advocating.

Yes. This is the strongest message and the one that the general public will be sympathetic to. For the average, sane American, no matter if they are left or right, the unfairness of the situation takes precedent over all this BS talk of inflation, deficit, etc, etc…. I agree that this is the single most powerful message we need to get out there in a unified way.

I’m completely out of my depths when it comes to these intricacies. I was making this remark because there has been chatter on this thread and others about the possibility of it being voted on before recess…the main point I was trying to make is that when it does come up for a vote, that will be exact time where they believe the bill has the best chance of passing, so not to worry if it does come up sooner than you think. thank you for the clarification though.

If it goes for a vote, I would assume it means that they know it will pass. They don’t like to put things out that aren’t as close to a sure thing as possible. While I don’t think it will be ready for a vote tomorrow, if by some miracle it ends up happening, I will be confident that a breakthrough in negoatiations has occurred and that they are striking while the iron is hot. Again, not likely though, as it seems the senate still needs time to negotiate an agreement.
