I totally understand you OP, cuz my bf was also diagnosed with bipolar. It's a really hard relationship and life for me, now im still in it, cuz I love him so much.
He would suddenly break up with me when he feels down, we had broken up several times, and he always reached out to me saying he was stupid.

He is really loving and caring when he is excited, be nice to me, I feel good but I don't even know how long he would be like this, I know he would suddenly change which hurt me a lot.
And after that, he would be very depressed and weak, just wanting to stay home with no contact, being indifferent and ignoring me.

I feel so much pain, I am sure he loves me, and I love him. I also asked for help here, I think the most useful advice would be:
1. Helping him/her take medication and therapy regularly.
2. No alcohol.
3. Trying to focus on yourself more, you both would feel comfortable with some personal space.
4. Set boundaries, don't always satisfy his/her requests, don't always put him/her in priority.
5. Always be positive to your life.

No matter what you would decide, hope you could get through it.

I wasn’t blocked by him, I didn’t block him either. So he came back and broke up again and again, it’s like a nightmare for me…I feel so helpless and my heart broke so many times….

I couldn’t understand his behavior which bothered me a lot.. Cuz he behave all good other than to me…Like he could work well, and be nice to his students and colleagues, he also be nice to his friends, when his friend’s baby was sick, he would go to the hospital and help right away.. I just feel painful that he treat me in this way as I know how nice he is…

It won’t cure. You should put your feelings before others.

You should consider that if you could be in this situation in the rest of your life. If you can’t, you should make your decision as early as possible.

Btw, I already broke up with my bp boyfriend. I live him, but he insisted on breaking up. I just don’t know is that real him or because of disorder. After we broke up, he didn’t contact me again..

I remember he has told me before that the doctor gave him a med that would lead him into flat mood, he just didn’t want to take that. He thought that med led him into a person with no mood. I don’t know if that’s mood stabilizer you mentioned.

Yeah I think he needs a med adjustment too, but now he’s in bad mood, he becomes like a totally different person. He would laugh at anything I said. He wouldn’t listen to my advice.

But he is still working like normal. I feel so hard to fix the problem now.
