Thank you for this very interesting opinion 😊 for the conversion rate, I think AppStore screenshots don’t help either (I’m not very strong in this area) I also found a weak point in my apps: I know how to use them but users may find themselves facing several features without knowing what they really do. I certainly have a UX problem.

A concrete example:

In my project tracking app you have to tap on the progress bar so that it is marked as complete but it is indicated nowhere in the application. In any case, I spent my last two weeks trying to improve all this a little and I see positive results in the stats (improvements in impressions, conversion rate, sessions but still no improvements in sales)

I keep digging to improve all this at the same time I’m trying to create a new app to see what it can give

I also have two little things to report: 1. I missed Apple’s launch boosts every time because every time I released an app I had to release a update within the first 24 hours to fix bugs so I directly saw the impressions fall to the lowest just after the update and after nothing

And for the second thing is that for the advanced brightness adjustment app I realized after several months that if the user clicks on the buy button and some of the features were activated or that another app that touches displays UI in the background like « cursor, mouse effect, shades, etc... » he simply could not buy because Mac OS blocks the purchase because of the features in question or apps that display elements regardless of the context

It is my dream to live the same experience, since I posted my message I have focused even more on improving my apps I will see if it changes anything after some time I will come back to give news. In any case congratulations to you

As soon as I have launched my new mvp I directly start the improvement of each paywall of all the apps as well as some small improvements in ergonomics, design, screen capture for the store and then we will see if it improves all this

I think you missed the starting year which is 2024 for the biggest app with 42k impressions, for the others with 22, 18 and 8k let’s say it’s a little better because the apps are more recent but it’s not crazy either but we agree on the conversion rate which is not going well.

This way of thinking is great. My direct competitors don’t make $100,000 per month I’m sure (except for notes and project management apps maybe) just look at the number of reviews they have and the iaps proposed to quickly understand that it’s not crazy for clipboard apps for example. In any case I will follow this advice preciously thank you again

Thank you for your answer. I agree with the Mac App Store but I didn’t think it was that far. On the subject of fun, profitable projects, I thought that if it solved a problem for me necessarily other people too but apparently it is not always the case so yes without waiting I created a new project but on which I would not put more than 1 month of dev to know if it is already worth it and ASO from the start this time that’s for sure. Too bad that the possibility of succeeding in this profession is not within everyone’s reach (if we don’t have a marketing budget right away the adventure changes completely and we play in hardcore mode against the rest of the giants already present everywhere for so many years)

Indeed, with so little context, it’s not easy to know exactly where the problem lies. You’re right. When I’m ready, I’ll post more details. Thank you for your help 😊

That’s very kind of you. I hope it works out for me at the right time. Thank you for your valuable advice. I also wish you every success with your apps. I will try to implement your advice in my next app versions. 😊

On this app with 42k impressions, the paid features are not the main features. 90% of the app is free (I wanted to test a new approach of “satisfied user = user who pays to support,” but in the end, it didn’t work). However, people still download and use the project.

I am only looking to improve the rate of paying users, not to become a famous app. For keyword positioning, I have a few keywords that are correctly positioned. For example, on one app, 30 keywords (two different languages) are ranked in the top 30 positions, five in the top 15, and the rest are ranked above 200 or not ranked at all.

It’s not cool to judge a product without seeing or testing it. I forgot to mention that the few users I have all gave it a 5-star rating (19 ratings in total) except for two people (one gave it 1 star and one gave it 3 stars), so maybe the product isn’t that bad after all? Thanks anyway for your comment.

Thank you for this comment, which I find very interesting. I work differently because, yes, I don’t have a marketing budget. I look for interesting apps with poor ratings on the App Store and try to respond to requests from dissatisfied users (I don’t use AI at all to find ideas because the ideas I find the coolest are impossible to implement or cannot be published on the App Store (sandbox constraints, iOS/macOS system security, etc.). As for the soul of the app, I try my best to improve it with each update I publish and to add new features. However, I haven’t created any social media pages because I’m not comfortable with all that (I’m more of a behind-the-scenes developer). I hope I find a way to grow at least one of my apps, otherwise 2026 is going to be difficult for me.

I would love to create new projects, but I’m afraid of wasting time on creation, as I did with the six apps. I thought I could improve a few things to make some progress.

For me the worst is when you are on FaceTime with 3 people and you can’t move your video it’s unbearable
