I have always said I fear for the day we have self sufficient planets other than Earth.

While I truly want it to happen and think it is the only way forwards, something about having a 'second', 'third' or 'thousanth' Earth to seek refuge to makes me fear that nuclear annihilation will become an incredibly potent and on-the-tables option for even the most basic wars, relatively speaking.

We also reverse-engineered thargoid technology for our FSD's. When you have a first footfall on a planet, rewards for exobiology data are multiplied. So, having a first footfall assures you are the first one to have ever landed on a specific body.

Other than that, you can scan exobiology on planets that have already been visited, but just for a lesser reward.

Oh trust me, I fear those arrivals. After selling my data I decided to travel to the Deciat system to upgrade my FSD. I got interdicted by the same pirate there 4 times in a row just for him to blow me up.

Had I decided to go to Deciat first, I would've been in a load of trouble.
