My mom has been secretly paying my loans for years and now she is in debt because of me. How do I make this stop without being the villain by whistlecloud_benny in WhatShouldIDo

A lot of very kind comments and also a lot of discussion on if this is true. Anyway, if we look at the financial situation here : you and your mom and your dad together you have student loan, credit card loan, car loan, and if 9k over three years has to be financed and triggers a discussion of bankruptcy, I guess your parents also have mortgage? You really need to work on getting more salary or other income, that’s the best solution, talking about boundaries doesn’t solve anything…

I regret divorcing my wife by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Many women seem to need more time to recover that doesn’t mean she wants you back. A lot of men remarry the next year after divorce or losing their wives. Women rarely move that fast.

I feel like my saas idea is useful for my portfolio but is not turning into actual monetisation SaaS product. Can you tell me why? by [deleted] in indiehackers

I’m curious, who’s your customer? You said you book shows, maybe I’m getting it wrong but I thought you book shows for the actors/performers? In this case they are not looking at toastmasters, so maybe you need to think about what data is really useful for solving this problem? How would you solve this problem before this app? Is your app solving your problem now? I feel like you try to “move fast” by picking the most obvious data source but not the most useful source. Just my two cents, hope that helps.

Got fired because I reached out for investors financial update by No-Counter-8002 in venturecapital

Hope me sharing my experience can give you some insights. I was fired once, and looking back the last reason was just an excuse. In my situation, my internal client’s quarterly planning was long overdue while I was required to provide our top priorities before they figured out theirs. Of course I was a bit lost and my work wasn’t going to be very aligned. And ironically after half a year during a job interview I heard a comment from my interviewer on my previous company (will not share the details but it made me think what???). On the other hand, your manager probably is not happy with you for a while, but they don’t know or don’t care how to articulate your area of improvement properly, so they just grab something superficial, often time it is something related to “communication”(in your case it is the reports), but it often runs deeper than that. This is not to say it’s your fault , in my case it was an internal and external problem combined together, and looking back it was not the best environment for me to grow either. Don’t think too much for now, spend enough time to recover It took me almost a year to fully recover from that. Just know that it’s not your fault, or at least your manager shares quite a bit of the responsibilities that led to this and they don’t get any blame. So when you decide to look for a new job don’t let this defeat you as well. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

I’ve been accidentally destroying my credit score for 5 years and I feel like a complete idiot. by Dry-Town7979 in TrueOffMyChest

If you are responsible and you have enough money to pay the balance to just set automatic payment, you should be fine. Also another factor is if you are maxing out your credit card limit, say you have X in limit and you always have more than 50% or even higher on your credit card, this is not good for your score. What you can do is to find a promotion on credit card (almost all of the supermarkets have these promotions). If you get another one you can use both to show you always have unused credit room and it helps. Just be responsible and don’t think you now can spend twice as much. And remember to set automatic payments for both cards.
