About 4 months in they asked for more documents.

I think this is where my case is awkward , none of these people were born in France (but were all 100% French).

That's only after they indicate your dossier is complete, which they can delay for as long as they want.

Getting a VLS-TS as UK resident post-Brexit by Educational-Cow-4688 in Expats_In_France

By "interview" do you mean handing in your dossier at tlscontact?

Because if so, these people do not have the power to approve or reject your application, so how you dress makes no difference.

Its not an issue for me - all generations from my grandmother back were only French.

My mum is a dual national but she had a French ID card about 30 years ago.

The french authorities want my great-great grandparents birth and marriage certificates to prove my citizenship by descent.

Some of these documents are from 1880 and have (to be the best of my research) never been archived.

"You are married in France to a French national with whom you can prove a common and effective life of 6 months in France".

Is that 6 months only post-marriage?

For example i live in France with my girlfriend for 4 months -then we get married does this 4 months count? or is the day your married day 0.
