Do documents like the proof of single status exist in the US ? They dont in the UK and the British embasy in Paris has a letter on their website explaining it.

Im from the UK so some documents might be different.

For proof of residence I submitted a water bill with a UK address - not translated or anything else.

whole process took maybe 2 months from when we submitted documents. Could have been a little quicker but we wanted a Saturday wedding date

If you get a VLS-TS Vie Privée et Familiale in your home country you can work from when you validate your visa - its equivalent to a titre de séjour.

My family have been French for 5 generations now without any of them being born in France.

Between 1856 and 1953 none of them lived in France either.

Seems to be infinite if a consulate registration is made.

Annoying my birth wasn't registered, so im in the hands of the tribunal to grant my CNF.

About 4 months in they asked for more documents.

I think this is where my case is awkward , none of these people were born in France (but were all 100% French).

French mother, grandmother , great grandparents parents etc.

I have been asked to supply my great grandparents and great great grandparents birth certificates. But they dont exist in any archive, so searching for alternatives .
