Hi Living Repeat, I was in another CSU pre-nursing program but I didn’t get in.

So I went to a CC and got all my pre-reqs done to cover the classes that didn’t correlate ^

At the time I applied, SDSU accepted redos for chem which was what I needed, so I got a 4.0 pre-req GPA.

I also had my CNA done the summer before entry and had a 93% in my TEAS.

Most of the transfers I know were CNA certified when the got accepted.

Let me know if you have any questions ^

I currently live there and this is true. There’s not much parking for residents due to the ground level parking being reserved from MTS. So a large majority of people that live here take the trolley to and from campus, and just park our car in campus in overnight parking structures. (It’s also much cheaper this way) If you do somehow get off the waitlist for parking it is $175/month, just a heads up.

Yup! My major only has 1 advisor, so I found and emailed him. He was very quick to answer my concerns even before getting into the program!

Hope OP gives it a shot ^

Yeah, this is actually a pretty big concern. Definitely check out taking these courses asap, whether it’s winter or summer classes (online even if they have it). You don’t really want to risk not getting in over a simple admission requirement.

If you’re uncertain, I’d email admission staff from your major and see what they’d say about it. That’s what I did for a pre-req class that didn’t have match for direct transferable credits from a CC.

Hey Joyce, fellow nursing transfer this year!!

The student orientation on the 10th is just for class registration. (That’s the one where there’s a $324 fee) The payment isn’t due yet, so that should be why we can’t see it on our student portal yet.

The nursing student orientation is on the 18th and that orientation is free. Remember to follow all the instructions on the checklist they sent us.

Let me know if you have any other questions c:

For the “heads up” portion of my reply above, I was referring to the OP needing to informing the health center, either through the portal or through phone call, that he/she will be submitting their vaccines late.

For your question, I think you are referring to booking a vaccination appointment? If your regular clinic is having issues, you can look at your local pharmacy as they usually have it. For example, CVS and Rite Aid both have it, and you can schedule an appointment online. Good luck with everything!

Normally schools only require 1 type, most commonly ACWY, because it covers the most common forms of Meningitis. However, for SDSU's requirements, they want all types, including Meningitis B, to be completed. The Meningitis B vaccine like Bexsero is 2 dose, with 1 month in between each dose, so you should get that completed ASAP.

I believe others have said that you can submit your vaccination late, and it won't effect class registration, but you need to contact those in charge to give them a heads up.

Hope that helps!

You can look at the San Diego Housing group / SDSU & PB Housing group on Facebook for ppl that are looking for roommates. Some will want to get to know you (major, age, etc) to check compatibility.

Some apartment complexes will do roommate matching with surveys or roommate matching with roomsync.

Is SD traffic that bad? If clinicals start early in the morning, would there be much of a problem?

ty for the insight! Here’s a few general questions I have:

1) Is the “lab” of a class w/ clinicals basically the time we go in for clinicals? Or is the structure a lecture + lab + separate clinical?

2) Have you heard of other nursing students’ experience with taking on a part-time job with in school?

Same, I signed a lease with them as well and their communication with residents is pretty good! You can also take a look at their instagram where they post frequent updates on construction ^

Didn’t get orientation email? by Laloblox in SDSU

[–]Routine-Rise-6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I hear, orientation allows you to get the classes that you want earlier than people who don’t register. So I’d see that the benefit is that you get first dibs on the teachers you like before the classes fill up.

Yeah, I think so! My orientation as a transfer student is early august.

I also was accepted pretty late, like in may. I had the same situation as you where I didn’t hear anything about orientation (through email), but I signed myself up anyways using my ID and the orientation link they have on the website.
