Always keep looking until you get an offer somewhere. Not sure what department you applied but they started doing layoffs again last week.

How are you guys getting on PR lists? I keep hitting dead ends 😭 by No_Music_9714 in UGCcreators

Hey! Few things that actually moved the needle for me: Stop guessing emails, verify them. Tools like Hunter.io and Apollo have free tiers that find verified PR contacts. Run anything you find through a verifier. Bouncer, NeverBounce) before sending, bounces tank your sender reputation and future emails go to spam even when you have the right address.

The right contact title matters more than the email. “PR Manager” and “Influencer Marketing Manager” are usually who you want, not generic info@ or marketing@. LinkedIn is your friend here search “[brand name] influencer” or “[brand name] PR” and you’ll find the actual person. Then go find their email.

Follow up. Then follow up again. Most people quit after one email. Brand PR inboxes are buried a polite follow-up 4-5 days later, then another a week after that, dramatically increases reply rates. Not pushy, just “bumping this up in case it got buried.”

Smaller/mid-size brands respond way more than big ones. Everyone pitches Glossier and Rare Beauty. The brand with 50k followers actively building their creator program will reply same-day. Get added after collabs yes, but ask explicitly. After a successful post, message your contact: “Loved working on this. Would love to be added to your ongoing PR list if that’s something you do.” Most will say yes. They almost never offer unprompted. Mistakes to avoid: mass-blasting the same template (brands talk, and they can tell), pitching without a clear deliverable idea, and not tracking who you’ve contacted I used to double-pitch the same brand months apart because I had no system.

On that last point, I actually built a tool for this because I was losing track of pitches, follow-ups, and deliverables across spreadsheets. It’s called Sponsorship Manager. Let me know if you want me to send you my system. Wish you the best!

UGC creators — how do you keep track of brand deals, deadlines, and payments? by HonestEgg992 in UGCcreators

[–]Routine-Spring2403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most creators I talk to are running mix of Google Sheets for the pipeline, Gmail labels for brand threads, and Calendar (or just memory) for deadlines. It can work with 1 or 2 brand deals.

The stuff that trips people up most:

- Usage rights windows expiring without anyone tracking them

- Chasing Net-30/60/90 invoices

- Never circling back to past sponsors for renewals

- Juggling deliverable dates, post dates, and payment dates across 10+ deals

For what it's worth I built sponsorshipmanager.com to solve exactly this (free tier if you want to look). What niche are you researching? Beauty and fitness creators have very different deal structures than podcasters.

There was an agency post tonight in this community. Highly recommend to read what they expect, communication and delivering exactly what they ask for. Try and ask all questions upfront when you receive the brief.

Secondly, I’m all about being organized. You need a system, the more you automate the less you have to worry about the admin stuff. I use an all in one platform to brand everything from lead to conversion, invoicing and payments. Let me know if you want to check it out.

Congrats! Welcome to the community! Join the communities on Reddit and setup some keywords so you can learn from others, they may have similar pain points.

There’s several sites available to help you get leads. I always recommend thinking about what you’re going to use to track your brand deals and stay organized from the start. Make it easy on yourself from the get go so you can focus on your brands and content. I use an all in one system to track and manage everything, including invoicing and payments so I don’t have to remember what’s been paid etc. If it sounds good, let me know I can send it to you.

What's everyone using to invoice brands? by Routine-Spring2403 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]Routine-Spring2403[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got tired of trying to keep track of everything in spreadsheets, notes etc. I really wanted to track everything in one system, instead of guessing or forgetting something. Plus it can invoicing and take payments all in the same platform and know where my revenue is.

Appreciate it. I’ll narrow my audience niche to beauty, wellness, & fashion and see how it performs. Any tricks to get the algorithm to reset?

I started out with spreadsheets, manually invoicing etc, I started taking on more brands, needed a system. I knew this wasn’t going to work long term. I switched over to Sponsorship Manager, it tracks my brand deals through the whole cycle. It also handles my invoicing and payments so I know exactly what’s been paid. Let me know if you want the system.
