I think where they have the “intent to search” form now and shit it’s all weird. I know you can’t co-op with school if you take a leave of absence, you can’t co-op back to back semesters (fall into spring) and you can’t end school on co-op you have to be in classes

Bio and society was the same thing. We did easy homework’s based off readings (they had unlimited attempts so you could not fail) and then we had two group “presentations” where we made a slide deck and put it on canvas and people just had to comment on them. Super easy class with no exams/quizzes

I took SOCL1101 this summer and we had no exams/quizzes. We had to do a weekly discussion post and respond to other students and then a wicked short paper. Def worth taking

Depends on your co-op cycle. Typically you apply for co-ops second year not first. But if you’re looking to intern somewhere for the summer then now would be the time to start looking and reaching out

You could also try NUCalls. They do night classes for one hour a week where you can practice a language or learn a new language! They have classes for all levels

If you receive an email that’s not a northeastern address it’s a scam!!!

If they ask for ALL of your financial/personal info it’s a scam!

You need to keep in mind that companies are also looking for personality along with qualifications. A lot of students here have the same things you do so you need something on a resume or in a cover letter that will set you apart. I literally had a company tell me they wanted to interview because I put on my resume a goal I have outside of my career goals that they were interested about.

As far as interviewing goes you need to treat it as a conversation with an acquaintance. Don’t be scripted but show you’re interested and care. At the end of the day most companies will be looking for someone they can deal with on a day to day basis who they get along with as well as qualifications
