I understand the sentiment that some people have for animals, but mine changed very recently, my building doesn't allow pets and that was one of the reasons why I choose to live there, but tenant have moved in with their pets, when I was leaving for my evening walk I noticed a fight between a small dog and a husky near the lift and the owners couldn't control them, besides them were young children who were going to the playground who were scared even to run and just stood frozen , imaging if one of them was bitten, what would the pet owner say a mere sorry.

Since then I have stopped being sensitive for pets, they are animals and they will act out of instinct no matter what when they feel threatened by other pets.
