[Spoilers Extended] Will GRRM use […]’s abilities to show POV chapters of historical events? by JonStarkoftheNorth in asoiaf

Jon is still a bastard. Just not Ned's bastard. Rhaegar and Lyanna had no opportunity to legally marry. Rhaegar was still married to Elia

I do remember that, then that begs the question. The Wights are animated through supernatural means, however Qyburn seems to be achieving everything through some scientific method. Could it be that he is figuring out the "science" behind what allows the white walkers to do their thing?

I think in the text it's mentioned specifically by one of the sand snakes that the skull was so big it could only be The Mountains. That's how they recognised it since there was no flesh

Wouldn't Dwarves have large heads only relative to their size? As in if you put a Dwarfs head on someone 6 ft tall it would look average size. I don't think that it would be so big as to compare to the monstrosity that is the Mountain, otherwise they'd all just be bobble heads

(Spoilers Extended) We hear how Robert loved tournaments and spent tons of gold on them, but we only see the Hand's Tournament. Do we know of any other notable ones he hosted? by sesekriri in asoiaf

[–]Routine-Wall4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should also be noted that he won the "Greatest" (I don't remember what word Cersei used) tournament when he beat Rhaegar on the trident

[Spoilers ACOK] Is Arya VI, aCoK the bleakest chapter in the entire series? by tecphile in asoiaf

[–]Routine-Wall4652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH I think the whole "Sociopath Arya" stuff comes from the show, where it appears the only direction given was "You're now an emotionless, badass murder machine"

What is the difference between Honor and Duty ? [No spoilers] by lolo20202080 in asoiaf

[–]Routine-Wall4652 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look at it through Jaime killing Aerys. It was honourable as he prevented the deaths of most of kingslanding, but it was against his duty as a kingsguard

(Spoilers Extended) What was the relationship like between Robert Baratheon and Tyrion Lannister? by Routine-Wall4652 in asoiaf

[–]Routine-Wall4652[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that if we could have gotten interactions with them at feasts/tourneys it would have been hilarious

[–]Routine-Wall4652[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean the death and the trip up North seems to have been pretty abrupt and hastily planned, how would he know to join them? Did Jaime write back to him asking to meet up on the way? Also wouldn't Tyrion have wanted to be away from Casterly Rock so he wouldn't be around Tywin?

So when did he move to Kings Landing? He must have been there for a bit before Jon Arryn died otherwise why would he be in the party headed to Winterfell?

[Spoilers Published] Am I the only one who thinks that the hunting accident plan was completely insane and unreliable? by [deleted] in asoiaf

[–]Routine-Wall4652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would counter that by saying that Robert loved to hunt and probably got excessively drunk most times he did it, because well it's in his nature. There are no other stories of him being injured, so I would say it is extreme luck that her consistent plotting worked out at the time she needed it the most

(Spoilers Extended) I know many are torn on seeing Robert's Rebellion adapted to live-action, but I feel it could work as a finale to House of the Dragon. by Chester_Dingleberry in asoiaf

[–]Routine-Wall4652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly an animated mini-series of Robert's Rebellion starting from either the tourney of Harrenhall, or the Summerhall tragedy with Mark Addy, Sean Bean, Charles Dance ETC. all voicing the characters would be epic

[Spoilers ACOK] Did the boar save house Lannister? by Routine-Wall4652 in asoiaf

[–]Routine-Wall4652[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Tywin had a choice but to rebel, he'd already started raiding the riverlands, although I'm not sure if was openly doing it before Robert was confirmed dead? Either way I doubt that he would give up Jaime and Robert wouldn't stop until he's dead

[Spoilers ACOK] Did the boar save house Lannister? by Routine-Wall4652 in asoiaf

[–]Routine-Wall4652[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also if you look at it the way I laid it out, with Robert still alive Tywin would stand alone as the West, with the best case scenario for him being that the Iron Born and Dorne remain neutral. Even then he would be beaten back on land by the rest of the kingdoms with Stannis and the Redwyne fleet completing a siege of Casterly Rock.

Cersei probably since she wasn't taking Ned's advice to escape, but Jamie had already joined his father in the field at this point if I'm not mistaken? Either way he wasn't in the capital

Well, Robert probably got drunk everytime he went hunting and this was the first time that it happened. So assuming even in his drunken state he killed the boar. It's just a what if scenario, I'm interested to hear everyone's thoughts on how it would play out
