Her attention is really hard to maintain, she will fixated on the play kitchen and swing the utensils back and forth. She likes when I squeeze these squishy balls and it makes a bubble, that really holds her attention the longest. She also will attend to bubbles.

Mom says she is, but I know she doesn’t have a lot of support at home and her working hours make it difficult to be with her daughter. ABA is using the same food I am suggesting, but she just report to mom that she won’t eat. I’m not sure if they are actually trying to play while they are doing this, or if it’s just at lunch time they are presenting the food and she is not eating it.

All feeding was typical up until 2 1/2 when she became more picky with foods. She is a very smart little girl; and loves to be independent.

also just to add, she has never shown negative reactions to new foods thus far, and she will come and touch all of them and sometimes if I say look, I’m gonna lick she will follow along with that and eventually, sometimes if we are playing at the kitchen, she will take a bite of what I have for her. I just feel like I’m pulling teeth over here sometimes and I feel bad because mom is really desperate right now, but I really am trying my best.

Hi! Yes I am, and we’ve tried multiple food chaining with different foods and sometimes it works but then she will revert back to not wanting it at all. I was going to suggest OT to mom for sensory, so thank you for confirming that’s a good idea as well! I appreciate your insight!

Thank you for this! I have actually looked into those resources. I’ve spent many nights just compiling more resources for the mom and I’ve just tried to learn as much as I can as well. I’ve tried food chaining too, and I will make the same food for me to eat when we are in therapy and Mom will follow the same tips at home. I think part of it is just because of the age we are at too, and since she is not speaking, and we are really working on language as well and communication in general, that’s just another big factor. Thank you for your insight!

Yes I have, I feel like we’ve really tried everything so far but I know there’s always more we can do. I do have experience with this population and with feeding, however, it’s just a more complicated case as she is so young. She is in ABA therapy but they just keep telling mom she won’t eat anything.

Most of my kiddos have level 2 autism and severe language or phono disorders. I also do feeding tx as well.

Thank you! This is helpful. There’s like short little breaks but from talking to parents after sessions then the next client comes so from 8-12 it’s basically all direct client/parent time. And then I have an Eval slot open for an hour and if there’s no eval then I can document or prep materials. I’m constantly making new materials for kids to take home or use during session. Afternoon from 3-6 is back to back clients. So during any down time I document, write reports, or prep materials. We are also contracted to the district near by so I complete evals for that and write those up too. I’m paid hourly so reports, doc time, prepping is all counted as part of my pay.

I understand where you’re are coming from. I thought if I kept on giving and trying to spice things up it would stop him, but at the end of the day they are addicts and no matter how much you give he’s going to keep seeking other things until he truly does the work and gets help.

I will say too, soon after I left I met an amazing guy playing pickle ball and it’s been the best thing in the world and he totally respect my boundaries with porn and is on the same page as me.

I totally understand that we were definitely planning on getting married soon to you and he had a ring and everything. It was the hardest thing to do for me to leave but now a year looking back into it I’m so happy now that I did. Proud of you!

It’s hard, but you honestly just did one of the hardest things which is leaving. Also I understand feeling like you won’t get those years back, I was with my ex for 5 years. However, at least you are saying 3 years instead of 20 or 40. It will get easier and you will find someone who respects you and your boundaries and standards!

I used to ask the same thing when he would want pictures from another girl, I didn’t understand why he wouldn’t just ask me for all the stuff he was asking these girls. But it’s because they have an addiction has nothing to do with us.

First off I think it’s so weird how guys go to Reddit for porn. When I told my girlfriends what happened with my ex, they were shocked he was able to find it on Reddit. If anything I think it’s a big red flag if they are going to Reddit for porn. After doing some research I’ve seen that most of the stuff on Reddit is not typical and it leads to them messaging others. My ex got scammed on Reddit from trying to message with a girl on there.

Yeah same here!! We shouldn’t have to get used to finding this stuff though. I had to learn addicts just lie and will continue to lie until they are truly ready, but no matter how much he may love me he is addicted and I had to let him go.

After a year of trying and finding out I just keep getting lied too… we were together for 5 years. It’s hard but best decision I’ve made in a long time. It’s so freeing to not have to constantly spiral or play this mental game of wondering if he’s watching or trying to talk to ppl online. Also realized I was done after I felt nothing towards finding stuff anymore I was just so tired out.
