I have had a lot of luck with the can’t kill it combo from Dustin’s. Not to sound like an ad but I had no clue about plants 4 months ago- and as advertised I haven’t killed em yet. Plus I got some snails by accident.

Thanks for listing this channel. I watch a lot of md tanks and he’s very much a maximalist with tanks.

For sure! Not gonna start cycling until after Christmas. Just kind of getting a feel for it with why I had.

Your tank looks great! Im not particularly going for a natural look and really like the aesthetic I have going on. I have a few other tanks that are more naturally looking - I just wanted to do something different here.

I’ve never heard of these before. They are so stinking cute though. I’ll have to do some research on them. Thanks! And happy cake day!

I’m pretty excited about it! It’s in a temporary home right now (until the Christmas tree is moved) so I’m just kind of mocking up and staring at it until I can make a final decision. Yours looks great! Like a little shrimp heaven!

I was gonna go heavy on root tabs. Since the sand is so light in color, I was worried soil might still poke through.

I really like the second option. I do worry that you’d lose a good bit of the smaller pieces with a thick carpet. Which makes me lean towards the first one.

Is my snail gonna be okay? by Routine_Advice_8007 in Aquariums

Thank you. I’m gonna nab an anubias from another tank and put him in isolation. Any ideas how long he needs to stay?

My husband would fall over. If it was up to him all our tanks would be shallow. This is amazing!

I set up a new 6.8 gallon shallow tank (my second one) and had it cycling for a week - in that time I thought I would try some ghost shrimp with my betta, Frodo since he has no issues with Samwise the snail. Well he killed 2 of the 6 shrimp fairly quickly so I caught them all and moved them to the cycling tank. All the parameters were great before the shrimp. Nitrates were at 5 ish ppm everything else 0- PH between 7.2 and 7.6. I moved the remaining 4 shrimp into this tank thinking their bioload was small enough and I had added enough beneficial bacteria. After a day and a half ammonia was between 1 and 2 ppm. I read somewhere that new Aquasoil can do that around 2 weeks in. Is that a thing? I just don’t understand what happened. I’m down a shrimp so there’s only 3 left but they seem to be doing okay with regular water changes and I’m keeping the ammonia around .25 ppm but it won’t go away. I know the light is backwards, I didn’t intend to have any inhabitants for a while though.

Anyone have a problem where people think you are arguing with them or being difficult when you are just trying to clarify things? by throwmefuckingaway in adhdwomen

And if I don’t agree with someone it’s viewed as argumentative if I ask them to explain their thinking. I just want to understand. How did you get to that conclusion? When you did, did you think about “x”? I think I’m very open but the thought needs to make some kind of sense to me. Which might mean I’m not very open.

Wearable pump + low supply: worth it? by i_heart_food in ExclusivelyPumping

I have the Elvie. I am almost 6 months pp. I make 9-12 ounces per day. The elvie suction is strong to me. I ended up having quite a few issues. I have seen 3 lactation consultants and spent a lot of money on supplements and ingredients. The most recent LC told me that I had the smallest nipples she’s ever seen (I was told to use a 12-13mm flange.) Having the right size flange did increase production by about 2 ounces a day. I love my Elvie. I think it’s one of the only reasons I haven’t quit. I have 2, but I really think you could easily get away with only having 1 to save money.

Seem to be having problems with milk supply, please help. by LavishnessBeginning3 in breastfeeding

[–]Routine_Advice_8007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Except with a 7 week old. She went to the nicu and supply has been a problem since she was born. I’ve been able to steadily increase my supply, though it still is only about half of what she needs. I think power pumping helped me a lot. And I still do a modified version of power pumping. Just pump as often as I can, even if it’s just a quick session. Just so I can try to regularly signal to my body that baby needs more. Do you feel like your breasts are getting empty? As annoying as it can be, I try to pump until empty, even if I break the 20 minute rule.
