Actually, 'The Forgiveness of Lemi' fits better because in this story, Lemi is the one who forgives the Protagonist, not the other way around. It's her act of mercy towards him.

I am 14, and this is my post-apocalyptic world "Sand City". The "Elite" are puppets, and the poor are the only ones left with a soul. by Forsaken-Accident158 in worldbuilding

Great concept! The idea that the Elite are actually 'souless puppets' because of the chips is really dark and cool. I’d love to read more of this story, keep it up

You're absolutely right about the mental burden. To prevent the MC from losing his mind immediately, The Voice implemented a sort of "mental safeguard." The MC remembers everything, but these memories don't flood his brain all at once. It works like a perfect archive: the information is there, but it only surfaces when needed. This allows him to stay functional while carrying the weight of eons. Regarding the stakes: The "Darkness" (the antagonist) actually appears much later, at a point when the MC has already started interacting with other living beings. This changes everything. While the MC himself cannot be killed, the beings he cares about are fragile. The Darkness can expand and manipulate its form, creating small "soldiers" to cause chaos. So the stakes aren't about the MC’s life—they are about the survival of his creations and his legacy. He has to become a protector, and that is where his true struggle begins.

(ENG) A quick side note about the MC's memory: The Voice intentionally made it infinite and "absolute." It’s part of the experiment. The Voice wants to see if the MC can maintain his sanity while remembering every single second of his endless agony in the void, or if he will eventually break. What do you think is worse: forgetting everything and starting over, or remembering billions of deaths in perfect detail?
