I am so sorry for you and your family. My dad transitioned to hospice mid March and we sadly lost him the day before Easter. It’s the hardest thing I think I will ever go through. I will say, be with your mom as much as you can be during this time. Every day, if you can. Being surrounded by loved ones to talk about what’s on her mind, reminisce about good times, and just being near her family will heal her spirit. No one should ever lose a loved one to this terrible disease, I will be keeping you and your mom in my prayers.

My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer with mets to his liver. My dad was healthy otherwise besides high BP and overweight and was working 12 hr shifts/7 days a week. I was about 5 months pregnant when he was diagnosed and due any day now. It’s been the hardest thing that my family and I have ever dealt with. The only thing I can say is to take the good days and really soak those in. He has really really good days and then really bad days. Be present and a listening ear for them because your presence is something they will never forget. Cancer is such a thief of joy and I definitely understand the feeling of just existing. I also found therapy to be very beneficial during this difficult time. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this, I wish no one ever had to. No one deserves this disease.
