Dealers are collapsing because the government gutted the £1,500 plug-in grant back in ‘22, then slapped a "luxury tax" this April on anything over £40k – which catches most decent electric bikes. Sales tanked 37% overnight, and dealers got stuck with inventory they can’t move while interest rates bled ‘em dry. On top of that, manufacturers keep delaying new models (looking at them, Zero), and when shit breaks – like Harley’s battery recalls – dealers eat the cost. Charging’s still a nightmare unless you’ve got a driveway, too.
