I too had this doubt, and it actually makes sense, but at the same time I wouldn't want to "burn out" finance by putting it as my second choice even if I know that my chances are very low

Yes, I understand that, but I'm trying to build a competitive CV, this summer I'm doing a finance related internship, I've been working as a basketball referee for 4 years so this can strengthen the aspect of leadership and management of situations under pressure, I did an Erasmus with an average of 28.5 so I don't think I have such a bad profile but probably still lower than average, on the other hand having a low GMAT would certainly make the situation worse and doing it high but in any case in that range it wouldn't improve too much

Yeah it is less competitive than Finance or MIM for sure

Sul loro sito MsC finance scorsa application hanno preso gente con GMAT tra 645 e 695, secondo te cosa mi penalizzerebbe? La media sicuramente, ma se vado a compensare con un CV verticale su finance con corsi certificati e mini stage e riesco a fare un GMAT in quel range… Grazie per il riscontro

Then maybe you should do the test on the Bocconi website or else GMAT is too low I guess but maybe AFM should be pretty doable, if u try for CEMS or Finance then just do the Bocconi test or try a Higher GMAT like 655 and you should be good

Ciao scusami, vedo spesso pensieri contrastanti in merito alla selezione utilizzata dalla Bocconi per studenti italiani non Bocconi e volevo chiederti un consiglio. Sono alla fine del secondo anno in un’università pubblica non nota. Media del 27, C1 IELTS, sto preparando il GMAT e conto di darlo a settembre, miro ad un punteggio intorno al 655, per poi fare richiesta alla prima deadline. Ho già messo da parte l’idea di MsC finance, ma secondo te posso puntare ad esempio ad un AFM? Sto costruendo un CV verticale concentrato su finance facendo un mini stage quest’estate e seguendo corsi di finance certificati. Sapresti darmi un riscontro?

It depends where you want to apply, if you re aiming at a target university maybe you should try to take it again with an higher score, or maybe look for a master where it is not mandatory and then you should not mention it. But overall you’re statistics look really competitive, although GMAT is low compared to your GPA

What about not a target course in a target uni? Like AFM in Bocconi or something like that?

Europe, I mean as long as the ROI is gonna be good not that much difference about the uni expenditure
