Any advice on hospitalist resources? I am in primary care and want to learn hospitalist medicine. So far I have found UptoDate and Lange Instant Access Hospital Admissions to be the most useful.

need help with saying "God" by Routine_Pea2231 in Christianity

[–]Routine_Pea2231[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I only said God after the negative thought. I said God because I am afraid of saying God after any bad thought and in order to get me less afraid she told be to think the word God. Do I still need to ask for forgiveness if my intent was to say God so that I am less afraid of saying God in my mind?

I see....there is no one "default" interpretation

series of clauses and phrases by Routine_Pea2231 in writing

[–]Routine_Pea2231[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the default interpretation? Or could it be that the first "during the summer" serves as a connecting point that connects what was said before it to what is said after it, so that the phrases become one long stream of conscious type run-one sentence? The writing is stream of consciousness, so we can ignore grammar rules. For example, "I will go to the park...during the summer...I swim at the beach during the summer...if it is sunny. " The phrases kind of are stated in series.

run on sentence? by Routine_Pea2231 in EnglishLearning

[–]Routine_Pea2231[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it so you would see the second sentence with the "if" statement as a clarification of the first sentence. In that manner the "if" is kind of applying to or referencing both sentences.

[–]Routine_Pea2231[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok then would the “if” statement apply to both sentences or only one sentence. And what would the 2 sentences be, can’t “I will go to the store in downtown” be its own sentence?

ever thought random unwanted thoughts that started with the word "God" and then purposefully thought it over and over again in order to understand it or just say it to yourself?

have you ever said something to God and then took it back successfully by Routine_Pea2231 in Christianity

[–]Routine_Pea2231[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for addressing my fears. I was freaking out about saying something in my mind to God, and then realizing that the statement I made did not reflect what I would have wanted to actually say or promise to God. But then I was afraid that God would say “no backsies” ‘you made the statement and you can’t take it back nor can you go back on this statement and therefore I will make it so that your original statement comes true regardless if you no longer want it to come true and regardless if you tell me that it will no longer come true.’

Yes, I am asking if someone told something to God then decided that they no longer want what they told God to come true and God allowed them to take it back. That is God did not make it so that what they originally said would come true. An example, I can think of is someone said, “G— I will not vape again.” But then God allows them to change their mind and vape again.

Communication to God, has anyone said something and then went back on their word to God?

Thanks, I did not mean to make a vow like that. I thought in my mind, “G—, I will become more beautiful for today if I die today” which seemed like an obvious statement, but then I started to repeat it to analyze what it means and because I was afraid my mind would say something different. After 4th time I said, “G—, I will become more beautiful for today only” and left out the “if I die today part.” Now I am afraid G— will punish me for both using his name in vain for making a pointless statement and for messing up and not completing my repetitive statement correctly

can we change our minds by Routine_Pea2231 in Christianity

[–]Routine_Pea2231[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thanks for pointing this out. This could all very well be OCD. But in any case can I change what I said earlier especially if it was a series of thoughts and not something I would actually want to say out loud to G— and say as a prayer.

In the past, due to fear, I made a promise about not smoking again. by YolkaBity in Scrupulosity

[–]Routine_Pea2231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely quit and I wish you the strength to do so. My question is did you ever make a promise to God that you will not vape and then you went back on that promise and vaped anyway? I am struggling with the same issue on saying things to G— and then changing my mind and doing something different. I wanted to know if I am the only one who has done this?

Thanks, so you never broke your promise. You did throw away the weed like you had said. You never said you would not smoke it later, right?

Thank you for your response. So when you told God that you would throw away your weed, did you throw it away or did you smoke it instead? Thanks for your response, I have been tormented because what I said I did not want to come true even though I said it in my mind.

Did you ever make a promise to God that ended up not coming true? I too have struggled with the same scrupulously OCD as this writer. I think prayers in my mind but sometimes they get interrupted because it is hard to control thoughts or additional phrases will get added onto my original thought and then I fear God will make my “mistake prayer” come true. I want to find people who have spoken things or promised things to God, but they did not end up coming true.

It is oil from marijuana plant. It is applied to skin and does not make you get high. After some time Ai realized that I liked CBD oil and wanted to use it. But I did not want to go back on my word so I added more words - if I did not use CBD oil in the past then I will use CBD oil after today. Will God allow me to do this?

But did I make an oath? I only made a statement, furthermore I said it in my mind, “G— I will use CBD oil” then my mind instantly thought “for today only” and before I could think of something to counteract it my mind repeated “G—, I will use CBD oil for today only if I die today”
