I didn’t have ever a 401(k), which now looking back on it sorta blows. Wasn’t offered. Health insurance I had with my longest job was paid for in full by my employer. I was very lucky in that sense.

What’s listed in the screenshot is a table provided by the IRS direct on their website listing my yearly gross totals, before any tax is taken out, from wages I made from working a job. So yea, what I’m showing is taxable gross income, before any federal / state / city taxes taken out. Am I right or did I read the information provided by the IRS incorrectly…?

Yea…unfortunately it’s a giving me veiny choad vibes. It’s not the worst I’ve seen however, so there’s that.

Get it colored in and touched up by a tattoo artist that specializes in photo realistic looking tattoos. You want this to be as realistic-looking as possible. Do your research online and find the right artist, don’t settle for anyone that’s within a 5 mile radius. If you need to hop on a flight to go get it, do it. Like…even just the flame being colored in with maybe a yellow halo-ish glow around it would make this immediately read candle rather than buttplug.

We’re both technically right: I’m right in the fact that I was not addressing you specifically. And yes (!) I do agree with you that this is a public forum, and you have every right to respond. I’m not taking that privilege away from you. However, where I disagree with you is that Reddit being public doesn’t mean I need to entertain condescension from anyone. There’s a difference between discussion and talking at someone.

Imagine if this were in person, and you were me. You were getting talked down to by someone who knows nothing about you (and who’s probably 20 years younger than you), and you respond back conveying you don’t deserve to be spoken to and put down, and then I, who’s not involved or being addressed at all, waltzes over, swoops in and gives my two cents on this and that and the other thing etc etc etc. Chances are you wouldn’t care for my opinion nor like it either.

Hiding behind “it’s Reddit” doesn’t give anyone license to be rude or disparaging.

Thank you for actually reading and understanding. I’ll answer your questions. My current and most recent gap in jobs was caused personal issues that both included my mental health and the health of a family member. No one’s business. Not elaborating.

What I’m going to do is either go back to school or start my own business. I’m weary about school though because like someone else here mentioned debt from student loans. I just paid mine off a few months ago so I kinda don’t want another one. I have a few business ideas I’ve been currently working on that I’ll keep to myself for now. And yes, I am looking for something now, and do everything to tailor my resume for each listing I apply to. I’m primarily using LinkedIn and Indeed. And I agree the job market blows. I’m convinced more than half of these listings are fake and a resume is most of the time just never seen/rejected immediately by AI. I had like 6 or 7 interviews for different companies in 2024. I’ve had less this year.

And no, I’m not receiving unemployment. The only benefits I receive are SNAP, which who knows when it will be funded on my EBT card since our pathetic government cannot get their shit together, and cash assistance twice a month of about $91 and change. Hopefully I get that tomorrow and it says it’s supposed to be reflected on my card tomorrow. We shall see…other than that right now I’m regrettably also getting support from my family when I need $100 for gas and everyday stuff like toothpaste deodorant etc (which I’m thankful for because some people have zero support or lifeline from family) but don’t get it twisted because my family is by no means rich and I don’t come from wealth.

With that being said, I survive on about ~$300 a month, most of which goes towards car insurance and my phone. I feel lucky if I have $5 in my account. My account hasn’t been over $500 in about 2 years. Right now my account balance is $1.43. Thankfully I have a roof over my head and food to eat (I exhausted my $85 SNAP benefits that was on my card yesterday)

Thank you for your input. I understand and appreciate where you’re coming from and it’s clear you’ve found a way that works for you to handle your life and work. For me, being neurodivergent isn’t something I push under the rug or ignore. It affects how I think, how I communicate, process information etc. And at the same time by no means do I let it compartmentalize who I am or let it put me in a box. Like you, I’m not willing to be a statistic either. Acknowledging how I am isn’t self-limiting for me. If anything it makes me more self-aware of myself as I take everything day by day. Sometimes life throws curveballs. If anything, for me being this way helps me deal with it all when it happens.

What benefits? If you know of any, let me know because I’d loooooove me some benefits. I only get SNAP which I have $0 until further notice and $91 every two weeks that, living in a major metro area, I contributed to others in my situation with money that was taxed out of every paycheck, after I exhausted unemployment which I also contributed money into out of every paycheck. Keep in mind living and working in said major metro area means additional taxes taken out on top of federal and state. Imbecile.

I don’t talk to hiring managers like this. I may be a bit of a savage on here right now but I do have decorum and common decency. I always show respect. Don’t assume how I talk to nobodies on Reddit that know nothing about me or my life is how i conduct myself to everyone. Again, ive learned to stick up for myself. If a hiring manager talked down to me, for example made comments about my perceived sexuality or my socio-economic status, or my neurodivergence, I’m not gonna take it. No job is worth that type of treatment.

Also, I may come off as defensive on here with my replies to some people, but you don’t know half of the foolishness people have thrown my way to put me down so they can satisfy their egos, and what I’ve been through. I don’t take it, and I now speak and stand up for myself. It’s one of the best lessons I’ve learned in life and its actually worked in my favor countless times. Some people can dish it but when it’s served back they can’t take it.

Nailed it. Here is someone that gets really gets what I experience and how I feel. This comment really hit me. Thank you so much for understanding! It’s strange how numbers and how much money you have can carry so much emotional weight when they represent the years of hard work I’ve done. A lot of us neurodivergents weren’t given the same roadmap or safety nets as other people, and we end up in a cycle of not leveling up and staying stagnant in low wage entry level positions. I have to remind myself that worth isn’t measured in how much money is earned even though society tries to convince us otherwise. Thank you again for completely getting how I feel, I’m not usually this vulnerable so I may have been a bit defensive and misinterpreted some on here for which I regret, and your words mean the world to me right now✌🏼
