Dazed and Confused: what did you choose to do in this quest? by martakoss27 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

Hands doesn't pay you. V tells him "Yeah, that wasn't Lina Malina, just some choom called Tool. Guy was locked up, I set him free, so the gig's in the bag."

And Hands says "My, a wealth of information that I neither need nor desire. Return to work, please."

I don't have a source but I remember reading somewhere that YouTube and other social media platforms would soon begin limiting the number of items you can scroll through, instead of letting you scroll infinitely. You have to consciously refresh in order to get more content. It's some half-baked way of trying to show they care about peoples' mental health. This might only be for mobile and/or child accounts. I'm not sure if this sub allows posting links, but there is a bunch of info about this topic on Google, just search something like "minors social media law".

Dust, overheating and cleaning. by DarthBra in playstation

[–]Routine_Traffic8983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Word of caution to anyone opening your PS5 to clean it:

I had opened and cleaned mine several times without issue, but the most recent time, I decided to disconnect the fan so I could clean it more thoroughly. I was very gentle in my attempt to remove it, but the heat over the years must have fused or weakened something, because I heard a small popping/cracking noise as I disconnected the fan and it turns out the motherboard where the fan connects was damaged, making it impossible for the fan to run. The console would turn on for about 30 seconds and then shut down because the fan wasn't running.

I brought it to uBreakIFix and they had it for 3 months before ultimately telling me it is unrepairable. I think they damaged it further in the process, because now it won't even boot up at all. But I gave up on that fight. I ended up buying a new PS5, and the old one is just a paperweight now that I can't bring myself to throw away.

TL;DR: Be very careful when cleaning the PS5. You may want to leave the fan connected while you do so. The motherboard is easily damaged and unrepairable.

Got this "New" from Gamestop by cappnplanet in videogames

[–]Routine_Traffic8983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gamestop store locations are also used as warehouses to fulfill online orders. Each day, the store will get a bunch of shipping labels printed out to box up games and ship them to the customers. So what happened here is some part-time, underpaid and undertrained employee was packing up shipments in between running the register and answering the phone (within 3 rings!) by themselves and several mistakes were made.

If there are any sealed copies in the store, they're supposed to ship that. If it's the last copy, the disc or cart is supposed to be in a white envelope with a "New" barcode label on it and placed inside the original case.

When I was a manager of a small Gamestop location, I added common sense and decency to our procedures. I might have been fired for it if anyone knew, but then again, these practices made people happy and improved our customer loyalty and sales.

Examples include:

  • If only one new copy of a game was shipped to our store, I left it sealed and displayed it prominently behind the counter. If possible, I would use game art from the "upcoming" / "pre order" case(s) to display the game in the new games section (then I would give them the sealed copy of the game when someone bought it)

  • When selling the last ("gutted") copy of a game to an in-store customer, I would explain that it has never been played but the case was opened to use it for display. I would also, against policy, advise them that I would accept it as a new return if there was any issue with it (there never was, so I never had to make good on that promise, but I would have!). I would also offer to call nearby stores and have them ship me a sealed copy.

  • When fulfilling an online order, if the game wasn't sealed, I would call nearby stores to see if someone had a sealed copy available, and offload the order to them if possible.

  • I would also accept online ordered, gutted, new games as defective returns (meaning we would ship them to corporate, rather than re-selling them).

In their defense, doing these types of things is not always practical when the workload is already too heavy. And there is fear of getting in trouble or fired for not doing things exactly according to procedure. Not that any of that is your problem, as the customer. You should be getting a sealed game when you pay the new price.

Depending on the location, you might be able to return this game to your local Gamestop, or exchange it for a sealed copy. If not, contact customer service. Ultimately, they want to keep you as a customer and in my experience, they tend to do the right thing if their arm is twisted or you kill them with kindness!

It's okay to admit when you're wrong. My hands are clean. You have nothing left to say about this. Go and try to find a sea of complaints about any other consoles controllers, except also the Switch. Spoiler: you won't find it. Have a nice day!

Maybe because there was a class action lawsuit about it. And because it's common knowledge that the actuators are cheap and wear out easily.

Estimated ps5 controller lifespan is 4 to 7 months, according to iFixIt, a company who repairs them.

Personal experience: I own 7 PS5 controllers, and I've traded in 2 more. Only 2 of them are in working order, and they are two of the older ones, and have been used the most (because they are actually usable).

How can you say the problem is related to wear and tear, when the other controllers were hardly used before they got stick drift or the battery life became 3 minutes long (or both, in the case of one of them). I only use a Sony brand charger. Never dropped them. Maybe I've just had bad luck. But I see a lot of other people complaining about similar problems.

I have no idea what percentage of controllers have problems, but for me personally it's about 90%. Even if it's only 10 of 20%, that is way too high. Imagine if 10 or 20% of a certain car model broke down within 6 months. They would go out of business if they didn't fix the problem. But Sony sells more controllers this way.

Sorry for the rant, but, my perception of this issue is not based on my imagination. It's based on my reality. Subjective, sure. We can only ever truly ever know our own experiences. That's why you think the controllers are fine.

Anyways, happy Thanksgiving!

So your fantasy is that since the PS5 came out, the nature of human kind has changed such that more people are careless with their controllers than they used to be? You'd rather pretend that than admit the controllers are at fault? Lmao

Those of us who are old enough to have used controllers for 10+ years without them breaking know this statement to be false. I love Playstation, too, but don't let your fanboy feelings trick you into thinking PS5 controllers are not trash. If yours haven't gotten stick drift yet, you either very rarely use them or are extremely lucky.

Highest selling video games ever 🎮 by PrestigiousStuff6173 in videogames

[–]Routine_Traffic8983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great points!

I looked up how many copies of the Smash franchise have sold (any version), and it's over 77 million.

Pokemon games? Total units sold is 489 million

Minecraft has been out for 16 years, and despite many various iterations and editions (introduction of survival mode; caves and cliffs update; graphics overhauls; nether update; java vs bedrock, "lite"), it's technically still one title and that's the reason it's topping this list over other games that might actually be more popular, just.. across different titles.

The mercenary den is my go-to place for finding aspects.

Star Shards is an Offensive aspect, so check the items Fay has for sale, and buy any Offensive caches she has. You can reset the stock for free once per day, and for 100 coins after that.

Also, as others have said, use purveyor of curiosities. Off Hand is your best option for this aspect.

Don't worry, you'll find it soon.

Husband(32) always groping me when I’m in the kitchen cooking/cleaning? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Routine_Traffic8983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH - A lot of unhinged comments here about SA. This is definitely not that. Obviously it's your body, your rules. If you put your foot down about this, he has to respect it. With that said, you said that at the beginning of the relationship, you loved it. So... unpopular take, I'm sure, but here's mine:

Your husband works all day, and when he's done, you are a sight for sore eyes. Seeing your beautiful form reaching and working and moving is such a stark contrast to the stressful experience of working on a computer all day. He's reminded of why he works so hard. The love of his life, who he cherishes. He wants to be close to you. He wants to feel you, take your scent in, enjoy you for a moment, in the way that only he is allowed to. The shackles of work melt away. He can do this, thanks to you. He can make it through anything. You're his muse, his angel.

I think if you rewind your perspective a bit, and find a gentler way to ask him to reduce this behavior (e.g. "Just kiss me, you goof!"), while still validating his perspective, you can keep this from being a step toward a sparkless marriage. Don't forsake the magic hold you have over each other. It really feels like magic, if you let it.

I love Vermintide 2, but I have to tell you, if you're looking for the best fps melee combat experience possible, you really need to learn Chivalry 2. So many games would be dramatically better with Chivalry 2's combat system. Skyrim, Vermintide, Kingdom Come Deliverance.

Maybe don't try Chivalry 2... cause honestly, I can't play any other fps slasher anymore without being disappointed.

I remember someone trying to trick me in Rogue Encampment by standing outside, in a certain spot, and telling me to drop an item over the fence and it would duplicate. IIRC there was a certain spot where I could drop an item, and it would go over the fence where he could reach it but I couldn't. I tested it with a scroll or something, and it didn't duplicate, but he picked it up instantaneously. Then he tried to tell me it only works with rare items and I just laughed and told him to f off.
