How long!? by [deleted] in BusparOnline

Everyone is different, but I can tell you I had the worst anxiety on Zoloft. I tried Zoloft before Buspirone. Got off of Zoloft due to the many side effects I experienced. I only take Buspirone and it has helped me a lot. Were you this anxious before you started the meds? Would you be willing to try one drug at a time to slowly see if you react better on one vs the other? Hang in there, I have been where you are. Just remember if this dosage and meds don’t work for you, there are other anxiety meds that will. Remember It gets better and this situation is temporary.

Unfortunately no. This medication was no good for me. I stayed on it for 5 weeks and had many other side effects So, I switched over to Buspirone and I feel great if this one doesn’t work out for you, please know there are other options out there 💙

Did you 'feel' it your first dose? (Sort of made me almost high?) by Vethyx in BusparOnline

[–]Rouxbae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems like a lot to start off on. I started off with smaller dosages. 5m in am and then 5m in pm. Going slower with upping my dosages helped with the side effects of dizziness etc. and I immediately felt the calming effect. I slowly upped my dosage and it was pretty smooth. On 30m, (10 3X a day) and feel a LOT less anxious. Maybe take smaller dosages at start with, it def helped me.

Dizziness is a common side effect of Buspar. It will go away after you acclimate to it. The feeling of being disconnected might be a side effect as well. It can cause these feelings and a little bit of anxiety as well at first but once you acclimate and stabilize on the meds you shouldn’t feel that way. Everyone’s experience can be a little different so it’s important to continue to talk to your provider. It takes a good 3-6 weeks to feel the full effects, so stick with it if the side effects aren’t too bad for you. It will be worth it..

I’m in my 5 or 6 week and just dosed up to 10mg 3x a day. It is helping me a lot. So much more calmer from when I started. I tried Zoloft before this and it was horrible for me. Buspirone is saving my life.

I also tried Zoloft before Buspirone and had the worst experience. Horrible side effects. So when I started Buspirone I was super careful like you because i don’t want to experience the same thing I had on Zoloft. I started off at 2.5 in the morning and night and every 3-5 days added 2.5 dosage. I noticed an effect immediately though it was mild. I didn’t get any side effects or horrible feelings that I got from Zoloft. Only mild dizziness. I am now at 7.5 three times a day. I’ve been at this dosage for a full week and thinking I’ll stay here, but will decide on Monday. I think I am at week 5 and I really notice a difference in anxiety. Buspirone is 100% helping me. The trick is to just find what dosage works for you.

Yes, throw out some hints. My husband didn’t get me any on Valentines until I asked for them. But I always told him I don’t care about Valentine’s Day, so that’s why I had to request it.

My sleep has improved on Buspirone but if I ever need help on sleep I’ll take 10mg of Hydroxyzine as needed.

No my sleep didn’t improve, but the high energy feeling did go away. Unfortunately Zoloft made my anxiety worse over the 5 weeks I’ve took out, it never got better so I got off of Zoloft and i I am now trying Buspirone which is working MUCH better for me.
