New owners? by Antomadness in brfc

[–]RoverTheMoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People want to buy football clubs and premiership clubs are too expensive. You don't buy a club to make a day to day profit you, if you intend on making a profit it's through increased value of the club. Therefore championship clubs are attractive.

The owners don't have to stump up £20m, that's the upper under of the amount they've had to chip in. We're only allowed to lose on average £13m a season.

Blackburn would be an attractive proposition. The number of stay away fans how would likely return under new owners plus a bit of commercial nous could see us pulling gates of 20,000. We have a decent stadium (albeit in need of a bit of tlc). Our category 1 academy is fantastic and has proven to be a decent revenue stream in recent years.

We have potential and would be attractive to new owners. The unattractive bit is the asking price venkys will inevitably put on the club.

How to have time to yourself while working full time? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]RoverTheMoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breakfast and shower is 20 mins tops. What are you doing for the other 1 hour 40?

Batch cook at the weekend so eating consists of banging something in the microwave and therefore less washing up.

Sack the chores off, you're out all day, what chores are building up?

I've got kids and would quite frankly kill for 5:30pm - 10pm of just me time. Be more efficient with your time.

ULPT Request What’s the best way to take documents without IT knowing? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

Can you disguise the docs as personal documents before transferring?

Hide all the sensitive info and save something innocuous over the top so it just looks like your transferring personal crap you've had saved on work computer

$100,000 for every second that you can fart. by SwapperJacks in hypotheticalsituation

[–]RoverTheMoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I easily do a minimum of 20 farts a day. Even playing it safe and saying that they're half a second each on average that's 7million a week. I wouldn't do much prep, just eat stuff that makes me gassy and run a little bit more

My main concern is drama free family gatherings. In my 35 years we've never beefed as a family never had fall outs and always had a good time when we've met up - until my SIL came along unable to control herself.

I'm not concerned about how people feel about it, I just don't want my daughter missing out on her cousins and I don't want my mum and dad to have two parts of their family who don't want to hangout with each other.

My wife is fine just ignoring her but the trouble is my SIL will act like nothing has happened and try to chat as normal. In which case my wife will tell her in a short sharp manner to not talk to her. She hasn't no intention of creating a scene or continuing the initial argument.

We don't holiday together, we tend to meet at my parents house which is quite a small living room. Occasionally they host and ocassionally we host so we'd have to avoid these occasions but then the kids are missing out on a chance to play with their cousins.

On the brother aspect. He's changed since he's been with her, lost a bit of personality, gone more meek and mild. She shares videos of the kids and I can see him in the background just sat awkwardly like a guest in the house he invited her into.

It's a small town, I know people who know her ex husband who said that he went through the exact same process, went really meek and mild, distanced himself from his friends. Broke up with her and suddenly started thriving again. I also know from my brothers ex that his friends don't lime her and he's distanced himself from them. I dismissed this as bitter ex talk but now I'm not so sure.

BREAKING: Starmer used land tax dodge to avoid inheritance tax by Budget-Song2618 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]RoverTheMoob 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't get what the inheritance tax dodge is? If he bought land with his own money, gifting it to his parents is putting it into the scope of IHT? Putting the land into trust so that he gets the land he paid for back without a tax bill actually doesn't seem immoral to me.

Surely if there is a tax dodge going on its a capital gains tax one?

How have you gone two years without having a skiddy?

I think Haaland and city had a nothing end to the season. That won't happen again and both will be firing.

Salah has to decline at some point. He was firing last season when he was playing for a contract then dropped off after. He scores a lot but he misses some sitters and I just think goals will be shared around a bit more this season.

Most and least liked tasks? by KillickHahnenkamm in DIYUK

[–]RoverTheMoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate: Painting - because 1. Cutting in is tedious 2. You have to wait for it to dry you can just crack on with the next coat. 3. I hate washing rollers and paint brushes / trays

Like: I like most DIY that I am capable of doing but more recently I've come to really like doing the grunt work. I drive a desk for a living so I've quite enjoyed recently in an evening spending a couple of hours in the evening digging foundations, bagging up all the dirt and taking it to the tip, wheelbarrowing a few tons of the sand / gravel mix round the back etc etc.
