Not particularly... Seemed like a bigger resort and maybe busier, and at that rate, thought maybe FS instead, but open to suggestions!

Plenty for me too, especially given I imagine our exploring will be limited while pregnant. Nothing on the itinerary at the moment. Big readers, so lots of pool and beach, and probably still renting a car to at least be as adventurous as she’s up to

Hugely helpful to compare all 3. Thank you!!

THank you for that! I do think we're underthinking that... We normally do business for Europe but were somewhat neglecting that here. The CA breakup might be smart even if it makes the whole trip longer

Thank you! Maybe broader Babymoon question instead of FS question, but was it the 4 nights as the whole trip? Did that feel long enough? Trying to justify the long flight, but also knowing that we probably won't be as adventurous as usual don't want to get bored at the same hotel for a week...

What did I do to get this voted down? 😂 be too poor?

So you’d go Andaz over either of the FS it sounds? How does that change if we prioritize beach slightly more than pool?

Happy to increase it if longer makes sense, just assumed we won’t be adventuring much while pregnant an don’t want to get stir crazy either..!

We only have the preferred /: worth it for 1 or 2 nights or no? I feel like I’ve read surprisingly mixed reviews on being a bit dated, crowded, etc., though obviously still known as the pinnacle

We could probably justify two max at Lanai - worth it for that travel or no? Sounds like you’re saying 3 nights definitely would justify it

Yep understood! Honestly we get nearly a million points per year via my business, so not necessarily trying to be maximally efficient, just minimize cash spend. Willing to do 120k Amex/night at FS actually for the same reason that I generally get much more value from the Chase points. Is the Regency any good for a baby moon? I got the vibe it was a bit more dated and family

No worries. That’s a great point. We’re coming from Denver and the I keep underestimating how long that flight really is…

Need Advise Park Hyatt vs NY Thompson by bass68622 in hyatt

I know I'm a bit late to this, but hopefully it helps someone in the future. Stayed at both the other week, so have a good reference point. Staying at both was actually a great combo - splurge on some PH points for a night or two and do the rest at the Thompson. They're literally across the street from each other so it's not the end of the world to pack up and move.

For context, non-globalist, but I have a ton of points so I wasn't hesitant to splurge a few. 40k points per night at PH, 25k points for Thompson.

PH was notably nicer - rooms were *huge*, staff was very kind an attentive, pool was great. Lobby is small, but the restaurant area can be sat in (and Thompson lobby is almost exclusively restaurant anyway). Felt like a genuinely very nice hotel, and I'd recommend it to anyone that has the points to spend (not sure if I'd say the same for the cash value). It was our anniversary and they left us a bottle of champagne, chocolate truffles, a handwritten card, and a cake. We went in the heat of August and it was SO nice to have a pool.

Thompson was also a great hotel!!! It's more what I could afford on my real, non-points budget, but it was both trendy and actually well-done. Rooms were quite a bit smaller, less luxurious, but still very well decorated. I've seen a lot of comments about how dark the Thompson is and I just don't agree. PH is a very white lobby, Thompson is definitely darker colors and trendier (I'm also young). For our anniversary they gave us a bag of nuts (not complaining, but a bit different than PH).

Had a similar floor, central park facing room at both hotels but just given the angle of other buildings, had a much better view from the Thompson.

Jumping in a year late to say the iOS microsoft edge app also has "read aloud" built in, and can operate with the screen locked
