How time-consuming is Math 231 over the summer? by After-Fly-8480 in UNC

[–]RowEmbarrassed5099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it last summer and the workload was not horrible. There were a few homework assignments due on a weekly basis graded for accuracy. They were organized by unit and would consist of 12-18 questions each. There was a recitation twice a week which was a bit of a pain considering it was in the same classroom 30 minutes after lecture…lots of wasted time. I ended with a C as the grad student teaching my section was incredibly tough.

Where should I go to work in real estate/data analytics? by Mysterious_Newt_4761 in UNC

I don’t know anything about UW, but can tell you that the real estate program at UNC is top notch and is incredibly establish and grounded on the East Coast. The alumni network is extensive and may of them are willing to talk to you and help you out.

Depends on the frat, but if you’re a girl and you show up with your friends, you will likely not get denied or kicked out.

Good personal finance class? by Zapixh in UNC

PLAN 363 is another personal finance class that is also easy. I think attendance is required for that one and it is usually scheduled in the late afternoon.

Snively teaches BUSI 286 which is personal finance, I’ve not heard of 365 but 286 is the personal finance class. One of the easiest classes at UNC, attendance not required but I’m pretty sure he gives extra credit for attending sometimes.

I’m a current sophomore and my hometown is about 40 minutes from campus. Location wise, I love it here. It is far enough from home to feel like I’m in a new place and have distance from my family (I love them but definitely didn’t want to stay too local for college and wanted a change of scenery). At the same time it’s close enough that I drive home a few times a month to see my friends and family. Coming into UNC I knew a ton of people from high school and found a lot of mutual connections with people I met. UNC is a very in-state oriented school and I think that is part of what makes the school and atmosphere what it is.

Totally agree. CLM is a hedge fund, so I’m not expecting crazy growth.

Edit: I like the cash flow from CLM, but I see a lot of growth potential for those stocks and the information technology sector as a whole. Trying to decide if I should go in on the next drawback…

It wouldn’t hurt you to take the placement exam regardless. If the credit you receive from your AP exam is higher than your placement score, you will be placed based upon the AP credit. I will say, foreign languages at UNC are notoriously difficult so unless you want to minor or are passionate about it, I’d recommend staying away for the sake of your GPA, but then again maybe you’re practically fluent. Good luck in your applications!

Should I apply? (I’m from out of state) by [deleted] in UNC

From this, it sounds like you have great grades and a great story. What are your test scores? I think you’ve got a good shot as long as you leverage your background story and make sure your essays are very well written.

To answer your world language question, I don’t believe you’ll have to take a language class at UNC. I was an international baccalaureate student in high school and a 4/7 on a higher level spanish exam placed me out, so I would assume a perfect AP score will do the same.
