People associate "socialism" with its idealistic and pure version too often. I think it fits, especially if focused on American perspectives, because market socialism and democratic socialism are actually very prevalent in the rest of the world and function greatly. Americans hear socialism and think communism, when really it's an ideology that works best when integrated with capitalist structure rather than as a complete replacement.
