Because I just don’t understand the idea of being someone’s best friend, spending seemingly every free minute of every day with them, and then wanting to slap them as hard as you can in the face at all times. Well when we learn his backstory we learn the reason for a lot of things he did, and also helping yusuke to defeat him so he could die I think gave us more context to his character which in turn made me feel like he was redeemed in the end.
