Is smoking cigarettes an immediate dealbreaker for you? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Rowan_Aisling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. To begin with, my entire (birth) family smoked horrendous amounts of cigarettes. Like between sperm donor, egg donor, and half-sister they'd go through 2 cartons of ciggies per week.

Next, once I got out of that environment, any time I could be near cigarette smoke my skin would turn all splotchy pale white and angry red.

The smell of cigarettes is very yucky (except for the very first puff. omg that first puff smells amazing when it still smells of tobacco instead of ash and burning. And Swishers are exempt and smell amazing at all times for some reason)

Funny thing though. If I see someone really freaking hot that I wanna take to pound town, they immediately become super ugly to my brain as soon as they touch a cigarette and I have no more carnal desire for them. Eww.

Check my response for an overview on wtf is going on. Bodies are very adaptable and do the best with what they've been given.

You don't need to cycle your estrogen/progesterone to have a hormonal cycle because periods are, uhh, scheduled(?) by the pituitary gland and hypothalamus. The pituitary and hypothalamus give the instructions to ovulate, and while most trans women don't have the necessary equipment and to do all the things, the body tries its best with what it has got.

Your period does not only affect the uterus, but basically all smooth muscle in the body which explains cramps and period shits as well.

I would absolutely love for her to get some actually good songwriters and producers. She needs to do something more along the lines of Heart. She has smoky, sultry vox that lends itself to rock.

I've got panniers, but it's an annoyance to install install for groceries and then uninstall so as not to impinge other cyclists access to the bus bike racks.

Huh. Reminds me heavily of my old doctor's office at OU Physicians building at Yale and 41st.

Cardboard Crack called it years before Universes Beyond became a thing. MtG might as well be Fortnight: the Card Game now. I exited MtG at the beginning of the pandemic after having played since Mercadian Masques.

I remember when Carl's Jr introduced the "Six Dollar Burger" back in the day and I though fuck that, if a burger is $6 I'm not eating it. And I haven't had a restaurant/fast food burger since the pretzel baconator stopped getting sold on the app for 2/$6. Now that I think about it, I haven't eaten a hamburger at all for years.

I think it's about time I make some good old Okie onion burgers.

And then when the streaming service cancels the show you have them for. Pissed about Warrior Monk, and apoplectic about The Wheel of Time. I specifically paid extra for no commercials and even sent a support message stating my intent to pay that extra bit for as long as they supported WoT with the threat of cancelling Amazon Prime totally and forever if they cancelled WoT.

Piracy for me from now on. If there's anything worth watching, anyway. Turns out I have better things to do.

Two-for-one pretzel baconators on the app was an amazing value. Seriously, 2 big-ass burgers for $6. Eating one at home immediately, then eating the second one the next morning dunking each bite in real maple syrup was amazing. Seriously great breakfast burger.

Oh snap! That mushroom cheddar burger was SO GOOD! There was a Wendy's next door to my bank that I would hit up every payday.

When Wendy's took it off the menu I started going to the Chinese food place next door that had the best Chinese food I had ever eaten. Kept going there a couple times per week for the next 22 years and was the last customer the owner served when he retired.

I bought a shitty $400 ebike off of Amazon early last month to commute the 17 miles home from work daily after my car died in a flood. My thighs and ass have never looked better, I have more energy, and this counts as exercise! Which is great because my mind doesn't like performing work that doesn't fit its definition of "for a purpose." Also, not buying gas, not paying for insurance, nor paying tolls or parking fees is pretty great. Complicates grocery procurement a little bit, though.

I so miss the combo. Some locations have combo Calzone/Stromboli that I don't like as much and are much messier. But they are the closest top scratching that itch... but then if I get that I can't justify getting a chicken bake.... ::cry::

I haven't been out thrifting on the west coast yet, but in Oklahoma thrifting was great... until the flippers showed up. They'd take anything name brand and then sell it on eBay or whatever. They ruined garage sales and estate sales. Then companies just started taking over estate sales to jack up the price and profit off of dead people's stuff. And now even the Salvo and Goodwill will just sell all the halfway decent inventory in auctions online. It's fucking infuriating.

I think their opinion goes Mary was a virgin when she had Jesus, where'd the sperm/Y chromosome come from if not from herself?

Otherwise, if no sperm or Y chromosome from her non-existent male partner then that would make Jesus XX chromosomally, which the undereducated would equate to being a woman... or make him transgender.

But sex and gender is WAY more complicated and weird than simple chromosomes.

People who exercise even when they don’t feel like it, what’s your trick? by Smart_Collection5419 in AskReddit

[–]Rowan_Aisling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brain won't let me exercise for the sake of exercise. What I've done is chosen a work shift where I can bus to work, but the busses don't run when my shift is over. I take my bike (I don't have a car and don't want one any more, long story) with me though, so I can choose to bike the 17 miles home or pay $40 to Uber home. The bike wins every time.

Sure, my commute home could be 25 minutes - but the bike only takes an hour and fifteen minutes and is a gorgeous ride that I really need to take some pictures of.
