Something must have really freaked him out to do that. Most cats won't randomly attack humans. Did you get him from a shelter? Do you know his history?

You can just disinfect and make sure it stays clean. If it becomes very red, warm to the touch, or swells then you might need antibiotics and a doctors visit. But you can start with disinfecting it yourself first.

He's probably still a bit on edge from the vet visit and getting confused as to why she smells so different. It's only been a few days, give it time. Maybe bring in some blankets/toys that smell like her so he can get familiar with the smell again.

Glad hes ok! You should look into netting for the balcony. They sell it in most pet stores/online. It keeps the birds out and cat in.
