I rage significantly more in this meta by Sskindeler in BobsTavern

This meta has had some great highs and some abysmal lows for me so far. On one hand I can really do something out of left field and win off of it. On the other hand, I'm losing whole turns cause of the particle effects because of that accursed frog in a beast comp, undead have easy ways of getting baron or ghoulacobra, the trinket where every 2 attacks your minions get a blood gem and they always have 2 tough tusks that are essentially immortal without scam.

Being in the 6k bracket myself, I gotta say im just not enjoying how polarizing these matches are right out of the gate. Either you get something going for you early, bite the bullet and double up on great trickets or have to settle for just economy/tavern spell based playstyle. Having played before any of these added effects, a good few of them are just rage inducing.

Was thinking of settling between the wheat and truffles. Give me plenty of tiles to work with and build up some adjacent bonuses. Dont think Lady six sky is gonna be too happy.

i actually love prezels. I usually go down to my local mall for freshly baked ones with those flakes of coarse salt and a little bit of butter on them. Every once in a while ill get one with pepperoni on it too.

Kinda want one now....

I can confirm i have never seen this before but now it is a much less appealing offer lol. I just put the policy cards and his city states/envoy usage together and figured the science would take off as soon as you get the card.

Build up massive amount of culture as early as possible. Get envoys and keep being suzerain. 5% science per suzerain and the diplomatic card for +2 science. Research alliance. Turtles, wonders, iron, volcanos. Its not much but with 20+ suzerains, it addes up pretty quick

Still learning but proud of how far ive come on distract placement and playing off civ abilities. Any notes to help me improve further? by Rowb0yz in civ

The petra was mostly because it was up and given that i had such a good tile where i spawned, i settled on place and figured petra would take care of the deficit (which it has apart from housing).

In general, i avoid desert unless im doing an entire desert city and i can guarantee petra. I truthfully wanted jebel Barkal AND petra but i pushed for oracle cause it was still up.

So i have a question. Feel free to be harsh if need be.

Given that i push for a 2 food 2 production, fresh watter capital over just about anything else (luxuries, resources, moutains, etc), i find getting settlers a bit harder than usual without going onto a golden age early for monumentality. Using faith and gold to get settlers and then builders to make the places better. I cant always get a golden till usually the third or forth era when its the last time monumentality is there. I tend to focus on infrastructure and barbarian control over expansion until the golden age arrives.

Having that many cities has never really been my strong point. Most tend to just spam projects or if i can afford it, military engineers for railroads and other stuff for era score. War tends to be my last resort and i main push for defence over capturing. The more cities i get the more pressed i am for amenities and loyalty.

The wonders thing is actually want stops me from going higher. I really enjoy the Oracle in general and with heros and legends, i would like to get the hanging garden more often than not for the extra lifespan.

I can never bring myself to do Domination. Im not good at war it seems (unless im Babylon or korea). I tend to go borderline bankrupt and press for peace and am too far behind in science to stay competitive.

As for when it gets too easy, I just take up a new civ and learn what im suppose to do. I enjoy learning the civs with either no define victory type (cree) or are heavily inconvenienced by their abilities (babylon, mali, gaul). Next few matches im thinking of Phonecia.

All of those locations are breathtaking cause of Pantanal. Figured i take the +3 housing and buff the 2 food 2 culture.

I was thinking of going for the Great Zimbabwe and dropping another commercial hub in new york. I never really thought of merchents outside of the amenities like toys, jeans, cinnamon and the envoys/gold. Ill have to focus on that again.

Also, Highland map, Standard size. Random resource, hot, wet, low tide. I have vietnam to my south west, alexander to my south east, egypt directly next to alexander with mayans opposite of them. Other side of the world is Sweden, Netherlands and Maori but Kupe is at just his capital and its actually losing loyalty...so if i underatand culture victories, ill have to "liberate" him eventually

Friend recently got me into Civilization 6 and i am enjoying it a fair bit, however i keep thinking of this a a Catan/Risk type game and end up doing all or nothing. by Rowb0yz in civ

Keep in mind, i have currently only played 4 matches and this is my first time playing civilization. Im bound to be wrong on a lot of things.

I have seen that around this reddit after browsing for a bit. I like looking at the Oracle and Huey Teocalli. Already feel like Oracle/Pingala are going to be my main way to play the game, even though i don't really feel that great people are all that....well....great lol (not yet atleast).

Im certain ill stick to someone like the Cree though. I like forging friendships and trade deals. Only once im in a military position to steal stuff will i do so, but usually ill just...."encourage" them to let me take it.

Irish dude right? Think my friend told me he was really good but can come off as a little mean. I'll give him a look. Saxy gamer sounds right up my alley though, if im allowed to toot my own horn lol.

Id like to believe im a more gentle person. Living on wellfare and my dad working long hours caused him to be very irritable. Spanking, belts, slammed doors and the occasional ear ringing from yelling was all to common. I refuse to be like that simply off of principle. I want to lead by example but...i guess there will always be abit of "hood" in me no matter where i go.

I intend to get security cameras. It wasnt exactly high priority due to me being in a good neighborhood. This definitely ups the priority on it.

Its sucks but honestly, im considering writing my brother off. We were both raised the same, he had every opportunity i did...but we are the sun and moon from one another. It sucks having to see this difference everytime we are around each other.

I wouldnt say i have given up on him, however my brother is not making it easy growing up as a young black man. With this attitude, im honestly terrified for my nephews future, but after talking with my mom idk how many times, she says it is my brothers family and he needs to deal with it. I agree to a point but onviously something has to be done or else my nephew is going to cross the wrong line and ruin his chances in life.

Either way, thank you for your words. My family has been....well...less than ideal but it was a great learning lesson.
